Repost ?

Isn't this similar to how judges and other high profile people can get CCW?

Why are you listening to some article from a faraway location about what's happening HERE?

Article info outdated and not tracked with current bill status. Never rely on 'outside'-CA gun/politics info. It's usu wrong, or grossly misunderstood.

http://nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml?summary=sb610&year=2011

For the record, this bill was originally sponsored by two gun-friendly legislators (CRPA legislators of the year, Wright and Correa). The Wash. Times probably didn't understand this because they both were Democrats and thus had to complain.

Also, there would indeed be future political/litigation benefits if legislators actually did get the supposed CCW advantage - but that part was stricken from the bill, SB610.

As it stands, SB601 turned into a CCW reform/standards package that actually has passed the Senate and is moving to the assembly.

Please keep track of this bill (and other gun bills) with the website above.
