I will be getting an 870 HD with the factory +2 extension. Is the factory extension good to go? Or, should I upgrade to a Wilson Combat/Scattergun Technology +2.

I have heard mixed reviews about the factory +2.

Send Aippi a pm and ask him how to install the extension, the right way.

The only reason the factory extension would not be good to go is if it was put back on incorrectly. There are instructions on aippi's web site (http://www.aiptactical.com) on how to install correctly.

The Wilson extension is very good equipment and allows for not having to use the bracket that the factory extension, and most others, requires. I have a Scattergun Technologies on my own 870 and it's very good as well. But there is no reason to spend extra $$$$ you could spend on ammo on another extension if your gun comes with the factory extension, IMO.

I have the factory installed +2 on my 870, zero problems through the first 250 rounds. Made sure I put it back together just as I found it after my first full strip cleaning.
