You are correct. As long as it doesn't become a leo bashing thread, it should be fine here.

I read it in my local paper before seeing it here. When I finished reading it, I just shook my head. I will post what I did in the OT thread on this subject: Stupid men.

I met the officer before... Seemed like a nice enough guy, hope the truth comes out. I will reserve judgment.

Not sure if the sentence below is saying that he was already on leave for the previous issue or he had previously been on leave and was back to work when the most recent issue occurred.

Either way, I think I see a pattern...

Vigil was on unpaid administrative leave from a federal indictment served about a year ago, which charged him with allegedly accepting a $2,500 bribe in 2009 in exchange for falsely telling the Orange County District Attorney's Office that a criminal defendant was a cooperator who had provided information to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
