My friend wants to sell a Lee Enfield but in 308. It has a muzzle flash suppressor like the Jungle Carbine but has the full wooden stock and unlightened receiver. Want to know some info on it and what might be a fair price.

He also has a MAS 36 in 308 as well. It has a manual safety near the trigger guard. Any info on this as well?

The Enfield is probably a cut down Ishapore - look for an "L2A" or "L2A1" on the receiver. I think Navy Arms sold these, I bought one a few years back for $200.00.

Mas 36 has a safety? I know mine doesn't. The only safety is not loading ammo into it.

The safety was installed by the samw company that did the 308 conversion.

$100 Enfield (unless it's a Gibbs), $50 for the Frenchman would be fair for the buyer. If the Enfield is an Ishy, it will need DROS. PAX

OK may be $200-$250 if it's a 2A1, but modified = less ducats. This year I've picked 2 sport Enfields, $60 cut barrel #4 MKI* Long Branch, $70 #4 MK1/2 F (FTR) butchered stock, and an Ishy in an ATI for $150 + DROS. I paid more for .303 South African, 500rds - $300. The cheap "sport" Enfields are out there, because the ammo is expensive. Two of these rifles I bought out of the guns for sale section. The seller can ask what ever they want, and hold out for that. And the modified French MAS, to me is worthless. Some one who wants a cheap .308 might pay for it. PAX
