A friend of mine just ordered a reciever from Essential Arms. They told him that they would ship, but after the first of the year they probably would not because they received a letter from the CA DOJ stating that they were going to be "making all AR recievers, regardless if they were named or not illegal to purchase in the state after Jan 1 2007."

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Ask for a copy of the letter.

Edit: Then post it. :)

Why don't you ask your friend if he can get a copy of that letter? Then post it here.

We should just go through CWS and Tenpercent!!! Funny how DOJ is not sending this type of message to DDs, CWS, and 10percent....

Yes thank you to all of the fine dealers (and kitchen FFLs) in the state (and out) that have assisted in bringing all these wonderful "paper weights" into CA.

In fact to show my appreciation I went ahead and bought another lower from CWS just this morning.

Thanks again to all of you... and of course to CALGUNS.NET for enlightening me of the legalities of OLLs!!

I just called 'em.

They saw the old discredited May 9 memo pop back up on DOJ website.

Went thru it, guy was polite, but still wanted to talk to NRA's lawyers that he talked to awhile back.

Should be straghtened out in a couple of days...
