I was reviewing the DOJ Kasler list: http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/infobuls/kaslist.pdf and could not locate Compass Lake Engineering on it.
http://www.compasslake.com/
Receivers: http://www.compasslake.com/CLE%20Lowers.htm

Are they considered an OLL receiver?

I located a complete Compass Lake Engineering rifle, need the upper, but willing to split the rifle up if someone wants the lower.

If they are not on the list they are therefore Off List Lowers, but I did not go through the list to make sure for you.

How much for the lower is someone goes in on it with you?

I'll call CLE tomorrow and find out what the upper would cost to buy from them directly......good question. I'll find out and report back.

Wait, is this a complete rifle with the CMP logo laser etched on the side?

I've seen one for sale as well, but just don't have the funds to spring for the whole rifle.

CLE is not on the Kasler list.

IIRC, the CMP rifles used the Bushmaster lower receiver. Better make sure there's no BM logo on it also.

hmm, good point

By the looks on CLE's website, they used a Bushy lower with the laser etched logo to show their right handed bolt release mod.

I remember the CMP's old ad on how they sold both Bushmaster and CLE rifles, but I don't remember if the CLE rifle also used a Bushmaster lower.

I suppose this will have to be verified with the seller.
