I was expecting a shipment of Guat surplus from AIM today. It never showed so I tracked it online and this was the message from UPS. PKG DELAY-ADD'L SECURITY CHECK BY GOV'T OR OTHER AGENCY- BEYOND UPS CONTROL

I have heard of this happening and the package uasually arrives beat-up, opened ect...

My question is should I refuse it on principal if it looks opened or am I just being difficult. Thanks, Sammy

I'd inspect the package completely and make sure the ammout of ammo is correct before signing and accepting the order....

IN addition to that make sure there is nothing that was added to the package by what ever gov agency that had its fingers in the package.

When I was in the business of buying and selling NFA weapons I knew a man in Montana that was also a SOT and he was framed by BATF He accepted a UPS package and did not know or was not told that BATF had their fingers in it like 3-4 hours before it was delivered and when he accepted it they busted him on illegal MG charges. He knew what was suppose to be in the package and just signed for it not realising that it had been tampered with a few hours before it was dropped off by the UPS truck.

YES UPS was an accomplice to the BATF.

I'd inspect the package completely and make sure the amount of ammo is correct before signing and accepting the order....

I know UPS and this time of year stuff gets thrown around a lot. (same with FedEX, etc) But, It would take a real kiss *** at UPS (someone trying to get permoted) to submit ammo to the government for legal testing. It is their fault this happened, dumb ars'es

What was the name of the guy that you knew?
When was it and in what location in Montana?
Which local paper covered the arrest and trial?
What case was it? Do you have the case number?
How can we look up the public record of this?
How did he find out that the BATF had been in the package 3-4 hours before it was delivered?

It was at least 10 years ago I just remember the man talking about it at the reno gun show that I use to sell at.

I do remember he held a 01FFL and 03SOT. and told of his adventure like a month or so after the fact.

Thats all I remember.

this seems to happen alot of with ammo shipments. pretty routine i guess. as others have already advised, definitely inspect the package for damage before accepting or signing for it.

when i ordered my cmmg upper and the stock, the tracking page on their website clearly indicated that it left their location to be delivered but never arrived. the next day, it was listed as delayed for the exact same reason you stated. then it arrived the following day when the driver left it in my building's manager's office with the box wide open, for everyone in the lobby to see the complete cmmg M4 upper and the stock. i called to complain about the box being left open but the response was that it was my fault for accepting it. maybe they didn't hear that the driver left it with the building manager in the lobby of the builiding, as opposed to delivering it to my apartment. i understand the need for the screening process but the driver should've either taped it back, or bring it up to my apartment. i haven't had any problem with them since.. i've purchased a couple more uppers and buncha accessories but so far, my boxes arrive intact.

Do you live in a apt. complex or other community that has security gated access? For some reason, UPS likes to use that code when they can't get through a security gate.
