Hoplite (Shepherdsville, KY?) distributes them and PSSes. Prob $729 for LTRs last time I saw 'em in Shotgun News, and you'll have to pay FFL fee, DROS, tax on top.

Traders in Oakland regularly had LTRs for $779ish and PSSes for $729ish, with $20-$30 off on sales.

Reed's in San Jose usu has one LTR on the shelf... prob in $800 area.

They are tack drivers. Spend money for a good scope, it deserves it.

Thanks, Bill, I'll check SGN. I've got 2 quality scopes stashed. 10x bushnel 3200, and Burris euro-diamond, 30 in, 3-12X50.

For that rifle, go with the Burris (although it prob has the wrong reticle).

It has a Ballistic Plex reticle and may be used for any caliber, up tp .50 BMG. They included a chart that shows bullet drop for all calibers in regards to reticle markings.

It is the best rifle I own. Once you adjust the trigger to your liking it is most likely the single most accurate rifle you will ever put your hands on. I have a 100yd and 300 yd target I am trying to post so you can see. both are 3 shot groups. At 100 yds I shot a .175 in group with 69 gr sierra match king and imr 3031. at 300 yds I shot a .295 in group with 69 gr fed gold medal. I know guys that paid 5 grand to get a rifle that wont do that. I paid a whopping 700 bucks. So I dont know how to attach a picture or it isnt letting me.

What kind of accuracy do you get out of factory loads?

Most Remington Police rifles will average a little more than 1/2" 5 shot groups with factory ammo. If you get one that shoots better, it's definitely a keeper.

A good scope is most important for this rifle.

I havent had any decent factory ammo that wont hover around a half minute. The 300yd group of .295 in was a factory load. It was the 69 grain federal gold medal ammo. If I do my part I can punch 1/4 in groups all day at 100 yards with handloads.

I also have a remington 700 sendero in .300 win mag I shot 3/4 in group at 300 yards with winchester ammo. I forget exactly what bullet weight I was sooting. But it is a real tackdriver for such a ball breaker of a gun.
