Thanks!

American bluing in Rodeo or Jim Gaston in Pleasant hill are about it The shop in Rodeo is part time so call ahead he's in the book probably more likely to be able to do this for you.

That'd be readily done by John Mathews of Almaden Gun Exchange in San Jose.

One of the best smiths out there - you should see some of the rifles he's done.

American Bluing in Rodeo

I can vouch for this guy. Fixed my CMP Remington .22 541x target rifle.

Don't remember how much was charged, but the turnaround was pretty quick.

Tabors in San Bruno....if you dont mind a wait. I believe he can handle that service.

*USed* to also say Imbert and Smithers in San Carlos...but heard thier Smith walked...dont know who, if any, has replaced thier old one....or how good/bad he might be.

Any updates on this?
I just called Diablo Valley Gun Works and they send all their barrels out, which is not an issue, but wondering if anyone else in the Bay Area can thread rifle barrels. Anyone here a pro at Savage actions that can remove my barrel so that I can send it to AR15.com and then reinstall the barrel when it gets back?

Yes.... contact John (M24armorer here on the board), although he's not with SJGE anymore. He's over in your area and he's good. If he can build class II devices he can thread your barrel in his sleep.

I agree, I just had him build up a 300Mag (M24 profile). I haven't picked it up from transfer dealer yet but I can tell you that fit and finish is second to none. Excellent work!:D

Joel...... if you wanna PM me I'll give you John's business contact info.

For anyone farther east into the valley here Dave at Sierra Sports is as good as John.

I have had some work done on a pistol a Diablo Valley gun works and was not impressed. I don't not recommend them. I don't know how their rifle work.
