Just remember that both of the 80% receivers are not Armalite AR-10s but are DPMS style receivers. It makes a big difference in the uppers you can choose from.

Another good company is SI defense.
I bought a matching upper and lower recently.
They are billet! fit and finish is spectacular!
These upper and lowers are DPMS style. The nice thing is the mags are cheap.
If you want to run an armalite barrel, all you need is DPMS gas tube.
The armalite gas tube won't work as the length is off.

Nice gittup you got there...looks really nice.

But as for the Armalite barrel, I believe you are mistaken. Yes, you can use an armalite barrel, but you DO need the armalite gas tube because the port hole is drilled in a different location, making it a tad bit longer than the DPMS version. And, I've read from many different sources (but cannot confirm) that if using the Armalite barrel (with Armalite barrel extension), you need to use the Armalite carrier and bolt....otherwise the headspacing will be off since the extension sizes differ slightly between DPMS and Armalite. I would just to be safe....

You may want to research/verify this before you buy the rest of your parts to finish your sweet looking build :)

For a .308 AR platform I think I am the only one who currently has one out. Billet 7075-T651 DPMS platform.

You can use coupon code CA05 and it should give you 5% off. Or call me but we are off on Memorial Day.

The real question is, when will TM get that 308 upper on the market? I finally broke down and bought a DPMS. :(

Nathan?

The DPMS platform upper has been placed on a TBD (to be determined) status.

Meaning we have stopped work on it for a while.

It takes a long time to prototype firearm parts. Basicly you make a print then a few prototypes then build them in several configurations then shoot them. Find out what you need to change then rinse and repeat until it is right. Then make a final print. It takes a long time and the .308 production line is shut down for that. Remember when we were out of stock for months on end of .308 lowers, well that was from prototyping, we cant do that any more as a company. We have a new VF-4SS coming in sometime next month and while that is not a prototype machine at all it should free up a VF-2SS to work on the uppers and other projects.

So long story short it will be a while.

Me too. Worst part is I ended up with a second new height troy rail so my next one has to be DPMS too.
