Shot my Ruger Scout and Benelli MR One yesterday. Shot the Ruger .308 for the first time since getting surefire muzzle brake -- okay -- hitting Larue's offhand at 400 yards was easy with Leupold 2X Scout scope, but the main thing was -- AND NO RECOIL. This is a 16 inch barrel in a relatively light gun shooting Federal Tactical 175 grain loads, but with the SF MB, if kicked less than an un-braked .223. Really, shooters I know watching me shoot though I was shooting a .223 from the lack of muzzle climb. This is rifle at full recoil:

A sweet, sweet gun and a keeper.

The Benelli MR 1 was brought out for some first time shooters and they were just hammering popups at 75 yards with the iron sights. I had trouble seeing through the peep (with my prescription an optic on this gun is called for), but even with that it performed great with 75 Federal Tac loads.

Very nice. I would like to try one on my AR in 7.62x39 for faster follow-up shots.

Great looking Ruger, and thanks for the feedback on the Surefire. They really do make some of the best brakes on the market! :thumbsup:

The Scout rifle really intrigues me and will probably get one this year. Is the barrel free floating?

No I can't! :confused:

Compare the trees behind the muzzle with this top shot taken a split second before - you can see the grey haze of the smokeless powder -- this is where the gun was AIMED, so you can see how little muzzle rises;

Looking good! Might have to get me one of those.

Also, that's one heck of a bipod setup you've got there, seems a bit unwieldy?
