Trot on down and take a look. If in good shape, with matching bolt, it's a good price. They are great shooters and well made. I haven't looked at this new batch myself, I blew my wad on a new Colt 45 and promised that would be it till sometime at least a few months from now.

I bought mine yesterday. So-So condition. How can I take off all that grease/whatever it is, all over the rifle?

I've been wanting to get a Mauser but the damn Big 5s up here keep getting Mosin/Nagants(89 bucks currently) along with some old carbine that fires 8x54R.

I'd prefer 8mm Mauser so I'm gonna hold out and keep watch.

I'm tempted to get 5 or so cases of ammo to squirrel away for the day that cheap ammo disappears.

I called around till I found one, it was the last one left too.

Ammo is expensive on these though!

Go to Ammo Bros in Cerritos, Yugo surplus 8mm is only about .10c per round. Never buy commercially made 8mm unless you wanna destroy your wallet.

the big 5 in cerritos has some in pretty decent shape i was there a few days ago and really had to resist buying one, do they make you wait 10 days on the surplus rifles, i havent ever bought C&R eligible guns from them so i was wondering if the 10 day wait is added to them there.

If you're looking for a shooter, you can usually find a decent one at big 5. If you're a collector, move along, nothing to see...

10 days does not apply if you have a COE and an 03ffl. I walked in, bought it, and left with it the same day. You still have to dros it though.

The COE is the Certificate of Eligibility from the DOJ. The 03FFL is the curio and relic version of the federal firearms license. With both in California, you shouldnt have to wait the 10 day if the gun being purchased is C&R. It also exempts you from the 1 handgun per 30 day rule. Getting places to recognize it is a different story. The guy at Big 5 looked at me like I was crazy. He had to call the corp. headquarters but I walked out same day with the mauser.

I always go in on a Thursday afternoon or Friday morning to see what is in the rack for the weekend. The cute woman who works there lets me look over the price list too.;)

Damn thats good to know. I cant do nothing for the next week anyways with finals and work, THIS time I can wait:D

They have an OK selection and sell the old, old, guns, but most of the time, expect the clerk to not have a clue about guns.

Yea the guy that was looking for it, took him literally about 3 mins to find "wich one was the 8mm". I dont know too much about guns but damn. On the other hand the Big 5 i frequent the dude at the guns department does know quite a bit. He builds AR's too, I guess he was one of the people who originally bought one, paid for it but got it confiscated and never returned?
