Hey guys, I'm trying to put together an M4 clone like what I had in the service -- CA legal of course :(

Firstly, if I have a 6-position commercial-spec buffer tube, does it matter what kind of commercial CAR stock I put on? For example, if the potential stock is "4-position", will that affect fitment on my 6-position buffer tube?

If so.. I can't find an AR15 CAR commercial buttstock assembly (minus the buffer tube and spring) if my life depended on it

I'm referring to this specific assembly:

Thats the same exact stock I've been searching for and all I've found were mil-spec.

I found some but I'm unsure if they are commercial.

I believe the # of positions is dependent on the buffer tube. I have 2 milspec CTR stocks, one on a 5-position buffer tube and one on a 6-position buffer tube. Both work fine and fit tight.

most commercials stocks are within .010 internal diameter of each other. So all commercials will fit a commercial tube.

a mil-spec has a smaller diameter and will not fit.
