So I finally finished my first build thanks to all the helpful members of Calguns.net. Thank you folks. So here she is...just what I wanted since I'm pretty small with bad shoulders. Nice and light. I haven't got the iron sights yet or my magnifier. It's a $100 Fakeotech but it works great in anything but broad daylight. Hoping a magnifyer will help in the sun.

So it's a:
JD Machine Tech upper w/lightweight handguard with detachable rails.(love it)
JD Machine Tech Lower w/blacked out JD logo and my coat of arms etched.
RRA Two Stage Match trigger + RRA LPK w/a grip I really like.(cheap)
Rainer Arms Thunder Bolt BCG (cheap)
Mako G-Shock stock w/cheek rest.
Mags w/ bullet button tool. (love 'em)

Very nice, I'm thinking about getting a fakotech for my 22lr upper build. Let me know how it holds zero and any problems with it when you get to the range.

Thats cool and all, but why spend money on cheap add ons when you could save and put it towards something that works instead of just looking cool?

I hear ya. I couldn't wait. I shoulda got the irons first and saved after. Still fun though and works great in the house if I need it.

Probably thinking of the bag thread. Either way though. Thanks.

I like that hand guard. Thinking of something similar for my .22lr build. Does the charge handle hit the Mako cheek rest at full collapse?

Great looking build. Let us know how it shoots.

I'm curious: What's the rail just forward of the Eotech for?

Shoots great so far. The Mako cheek rest doesn't get hit at the bottom but one mil above and it does until you clear it. I have a severely bad neck and just got it for when I get a scope or a higher caliber. The G-shock has a spring in it to reduce felt recoil. I saw a test from 'the real man's analysis' or something to that nature. The guy showed it barely compressed the spring with the .223 but higher calibers will benefit. Figured I'd get it now. My sight right now isn't even high enough for me to use the cheek guard. I'm currently shopping for a riser. Any deals out there for quality risers?

For the Fakeotech when I put the magnifyer in it's place or for a front BUS. Bottom is for a flashlight if needed. Just threw a couple of rails on to get an idea of how it will all come together.
