Nice, but high priced. A Nodak Spud one is about a third of that!

There is no way I would spend that kind of money on one of those

looks like they are original colt's, not repro's which might explain the pricing. looks like they sold 2 of them at that price already.

Well, take a look at this sub-forum for retro rifles (http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=3&f=123) on ar15.com and you will see the length some people go to totally 'retro'. Plus, from the link above:
Complete your “retro” build with this very hard to find original part.

I was thinking of a retro build...until I started looking into. Geez, some people really go all the way.

Not very many here are truly into legit retro builds, but someone will buy those for sure... not me, but those will sell eventually

Well, if you are restoring an antique M16/AR15 then ... nah, still not worth it.

Those are ArmaLite handles. I would only pay that if the sell was guaranteeing me 100% actual authenticity.

Those are for the ArmaLite AR15 and the Colt/ArmaLite AR15, Model 01. The Colt M16A1 didn't have those IIRC... check AR15 retro for facts.

I was right..
ArmaLite charging handle was cool looking, but was hard to grab onto, it was replaced at about the same time that the M16/XM16E1 went into production in 1964

so you are talking about original designed prototype parts...yeah $175 is the going rate for that.

So, you would not trade 3 Gunfighters for one of those?

This is not a charging handle you would actually use. This is a genuine collectors item from the beginnings of the AR15/M16.

They are absolutely worth it to the collector.
