I've been doing some research and haven't come up with a definitive answer.

How many Magpul XTM panel packs will it take to completely cover 3 sides of the rail except the top?

Also, which Smith & Wesson 15/22 10rd mags do you guys prefer and why, the 10/20s or 10/25s?

Feel free to elaborate and even add picks. I just purchased an MOE version, I need your input to hold me over. :)

FS Marlin 795 Wood Stock, Tech Sights, 10rd mags- Los Angeles (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/FS%20Marlin%20795%20Wood%20Stock,%20Tech%20Sights, %2010rd%20mags-%20Los)
Are you talking about S&W M&P magazines when you say 10/20, 10/30?? Because I don't know any 10/30. They have the 10/25 and short 10 round magazines that are better for prone/bench resting. You'll need 6 pairs to cover the entire side of a rail.

1 pack = 4 pairs (8 pieces)

1 side of the 15-22 rail uses 6 pairs. The bottom rail uses 5 pairs , as you can't really fit the last pair closest to the receiver (the rail molding is shaped slightly different there).

I bought 4 packs of XTM rails and had a set left over, before adding in the AFG2.

Yes, I meant the Smith & Wesson mags, I should have been more clear, I'll fix it in the first post. I called them 10/30 because of their similarity in length to 5.56 30rd mags.

Thanks, this is exactly what I wanted to know.

I buy the 10/25 mags because I like the look. But either way you can't go wrong. They're the same price either way

I wish that they would make the short ones cheaper haha. Less materiel should be cheaper, no? Well...hell, they're both plastic magazines. 10/25 should be $15 and shorties should be $10
