Today I took my Sig P556 to "A Place to Shoot" and had a great learning experience about the capabilities of my gun and what a red dot sight is capable of.
I had read of people complaining about the accuracy of the P556 and I was curious how it would fare at some distance. From the bench, with the red dot, my buddy and I could consistently hit the 250 yard steel target with little compensation. Moving to the 400 yard steel target require much more elevation compensation but we made contact 1/3, 1/4 shots, the rest really close. This was all with American Eagle .223 ammo.
I am really happy with the Sig and really impressed with the red dot. I had thought I would need to upgrade to an EO Tech immediately. But for now, I am really happy (however, an MPO is still on my wish list).
I also met Santa9Monica at the range. He is an incredibly nice guy. And I look forward to shooting with him sometime.
Have a great weekend everyone.
