Please help the LAPD Patrol Rifle and Tactical Shotgun Cadre win $750 for desperately needed range improvements! Click the link below (it is NOT spam) and vote for the LAPD Patrol Rifle/Tactical Shotgun video. Donít be distracted by the video of the lovable dogs!

The range improvements shown in the video were all completed with donated funds and time. The City of LA and the LAPD have not allocated funds for any of the facilityís features.

And remember, just like the Presidential Election, vote early and vote often!

Thanks for your help!

Done. I have visited the range several times when they were building one in Mission Hills. I have suggested something from my training experience, but they didn't care. After all, I am from another agency. They still had to come to my range to do certain things.

Ya; like the range in mission hills should have been 100 yards so the rifle/slug shotgun school could have been held there.

LOL. I guess since LAPD is such a big dept., they feel that they know everything and don't need to take advise from outside their dept.

Why not get 75 of us to give $10? (just thinking it might be easier...)

LOL... I suppose. The rifle staff has even taking to offering gun cleanings for a fee on qualification days. They are truly dedicated to putting time and effort into the program to produce, "a quality product," as they often put it.

Really? Haven't heard that. How much?

I think it was $5 for rifles and $10 for shotguns. Didn't take them up on it, so I can't comment on the quality.

Just wanted to post an update. The winners were announced this week, and the top three videos were:

Patrol Rifle/Tactical Shotgun Unit
LAPD Metropolitan Mounted Platoon
LAPD Bomb K9 Unit

All three will receive $750, and all are certainly worthy. Thank you all very much for your help with this!
