Hi, wondering if the MSAR STG-556 223 20" Barrel w/Welded Compensator is ok for California or what modifications have to be made to make it ok...and who does this kind of work? thank you

I saw this for sale out of state.

Bullet button and 30" OAL should be GTG, I've seen them for sale in Cali shops.

I think so. I saw a couple of those in the guns for sale thread.

You just need a bullet button and you are good.

With a 20" barrel then all you need is a bb, but you can get them in cali ready to go. I'm assuming youre getting it out of state because of the price, but after all them fee's, it might come out the same if you bought it in state.

I have a brand new one in od green with 6 mags, 16 inch barrel, assault rifle case, scope and rings if youre interested.

Pm me if interested.

Any idea if the raddlock for the stg 556 works in the e4?

you dont need to weld a flash hider if your bbl is over 16 inches

Of course not, they are two different models. An E4 rifle needs an E4 raddlock. It cannot be installed without a special tool, find user Radd on this forum and email him.

Any idea if the raddlock for the stg 556 works in the e4?

I've looked I didn't see any e4 specific lock.I'll email him on his web site. The only e4 specific lock I've seen was by assault planet or something and my understanding is it doesn't work very well. I know about the special bit I already have the stock and have contacted msar.

You can get our bullet button from Rifle Gear. I have the 20" and OAL was perfect...just needed the bb which I bought from them and had it shipped to the out of state seller, who installed it so it was in compliance when received at my ffl. It is a beautiful gun !!!

Put a BB on that sucker, and you're good to go!

Yeah I know but I'm having a hard time figuring out which one

Has a user installable magazine lock been developed for these weapons yet or is it still a dealer install due to the "special tool?"

The e4 can be user installed you just need to call msar and get their special bit. I'm going to do that once I figure out which lock to use. It's not a special install tool it's a proprietary bit to remove their stupid proprietary screw.

Just curious... what's the selling point for these rifles? I have not had a chance to mess around with one.....

As someone who is familiar with M/T products, I would buy something else.
