Anyone know of any place near Anza Borrego to shoot? My kids want to go to the mud caves at Anza, so I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to do some shooting while we're out there...

If it is in the boundaries of the actual state park, then shooting or hunting is prohibited.

It depends on where you are going out there. Much of the area is state park. Out past the Blue in and to the south of the Blue in is BLM land. Many people go up towards the gyp mine road by fish creek (split mountain road area) and head east at the RR tracks. PM me and I can give you better directions.

TruckHaven is just north of Anza Borrego, and it's on BLM land. If you ask any of the locals around, they can tell you where it's at. Great place, but you really need 4WD. I have gone 4wheeling there a few times and it was a blast.

No longer BLM! Area has been deeded/purchased by ABDSP!

Go south of the park. You can camp and shoot in some nice washes. Take 8 east and get off at Octotllo. Go north between 2-3 miles. Turn west into the desert. Never had any problems.
