Remington umc on sale for 13 dollars/ 50 rounds. Good buy? How does this stuff compare to what's available at walmart?

As far as a good deal If it's .40 yes, if it's 9mm no. Quality wise UMC seems dirtier than Federal.

My EAA Witness eats that stuff up very well.

$0.26 a round is a little high, but its not bad. Walmart can get you down to around $0.21

It's dirty but it always gone bang for me. I'm not rich enough to pay big5 prices on ammo though.

I saw a 250 round box of Rem UMC at Walmart a few weeks ago (Milpitas) in 9mm for $52 (I think). Saw the same thing at the Cow Palace gun show a few days latter for $49 at the miwall store.
I'm going to hold off buying anymore ammo for now (still have a good cache from the AB962 scare) because I'm hoping the prices might come down due to all the commodity prices (oil, metals. cotton,...) falling. At least if I'm wrong I doubt they'll go up from here (fingers crossed).
Buy you ammo from Walmart, internet (palmetoarmory.com) or gunshows. Big 5 is over priced IMO. Remember not all WM sell ammo. Good luck.

Ammo is suppose to increase 5-10% in the next months with the cost of metals going UP. Component mfgs and some big guys like Federal and Winchester sent notices out to distributors/dealers forewarning of the price increase. If you search a little, you should be able to see some copies of the notices I'm referring to.

Yeah I know NorCal Einstein, but look whats going on NOW in the commodities markets. Stuff is going down. For how long who knows but if it lasts I don't think we'll see the predicted price increases and MAYBE even a break on prices latter on in the year. Anyways, I've got a year or two easy on my ammo stash. As always, I'll buy whenever I find a good deal.

for 9mm, id suggest buying the 250 round bulk pack at walmart, those go for about 55 dollars, so its about 22 cents per round.

Even when Big 5 ammo is on sale...It's still over priced many of the times. Wally world usually has the best prices other than forum members on here have good deals from time to time

I was just at Big 5 3 days ago- since I never looked into ammo there, I thought I would check it out. I asked about the UMC 250 box in 9mm. They said, yeah, it's actually on sale from $78 to $60. The walmart 1 block away always has it for $53 normal price. They also had Winchester WWB 100 box in 9mm for $30 on sale, walmart always has it in stock for $23. I said thank you and walked out.

Big 5 ammo prices, when on sale, is still higher than most. Look elsewhere.
