Don't need to know alot about tools n such cause I know absolutely very little about tools lol you can ask my tutor. haha anyways now it's starting to resemble something. Heres what we have done
Flat is bent into shape
front trunion is connected
inner reails welded in
trigger guard connected
bullet button thingamajigger put on
barrel hooked back to front trunion
gas tube and hand guard put back on
WHATS LEFT
trigger assembly
support rivet
rear trunion
cold steel bluing
AND TEST FIRE!!!!!!!!
Thanks to my tutor and everyone that told me to build my own I think this is gonna turn into a one build a month. Next project ak74 I think I'm getting addicted and I'm not even done yet. Is this what CRACK does to people? HAHAHA

Congrats bro.

Thanks bud and Thanks for all your advice here and on AKfiles it's what pushed me to actually do my own. I think the one AR I have left will become a safe queen Might even have to dump it to make room for the safe heck might have to buy another safe.

That's really cool NorCal, make sure you post some pics for us. I totally understand the addiction, I've been to 2 parties and now have 4 more kits to build (I know still noob status). I need a 2nd safe just for ak's!

Congratulations on your new addiction NorCal. I'm telling you now it only gets worse. If you start feeling symptoms of withdrawal you may want to consider joining a support group (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=395969&highlight=AA). Can't wait to see the finished product.

So I have here my very first ak parts kit.

Really ugly but original wood I will keep original as possible for my first one.

looking What do you guys think of the reciever being cold blue color?

you can always finish the wood in any way you like. that is the good thing about wood;)

i like black but blue sounds good. ive seen a 24kt plate with ivory pistol grip and foregrip. but ill stick with the red wood or black poly and OG AK parts.

i love an AK. its like your first love. after you dump her and bang a bunch of other ho's, youll always run back to her

and what would the lower part of an AK be called then if its not a lower? i always called it a lower..i guess compared to an AR it wouldnt be a lower but it seems pretty low on the gun to me..Lol

Nice.

I was thinking of buying one of these Romy G kits (because everyone's first build is supposed to be on a Romy G) to build on some time. Gotta save up for a build party and kits and all that.
