Why do you want one? It is designed so you can have a high grip on the gun without hitting the slidelock. Putting a larger slidelock could result in locking your slide back before your mag is empty.

I have incredibly small hands, I like the FNP over my sig as I can decock without having to move my firing hand. I Just can't reach the slide lock.

i have to adjust my grip with all my Sigs when using strong hand for decocking; i just accept it. my w german Sigs have everything else going for them though.

no... not a bad price.

As soon as safariland gets their butts in gear this will replace my W. German P226 in .40 as a work gun.

Galco makes a nice holster I got one for mine, but I am handicapped (lefty). LOL

Nice buy, I am looking at the FNP 9 myself for my next gun. I think the FN guns are starting to get noticed by the gun community in general as I am seeing more regular posts about them.

Give us a range report when you can :D

I'm looking for a good duty holster. I've become pretty accustomed to the safariland 070's and they're a few months out still.

I appreciate it. I like galco leather holsters. Have one for each of my pistols. I'll end up with one for this too. :D

Have you taken it to the range yet? How do you like it?

Are you trying to use it to lock the slide open, or to release it?

To lock it open. The ridge on the frame under it makes it a bit tough.

Also I haven't got to shoot it yet. Its in 10 day jail.

FNH makes quality products, since their shotguns and handguns are such sleepers, good prices can be had.

For locking the slide open, I don't see much problem with shifting your grip. I associate locking the slide open with the end of a string of firing, or in the rare case of clearing a malfunction, neither of which require a good shooting grip anyways.

I guess you could dremel down the cage around the catch for easier access if it's really bugging you. I am unaware of any extended slide catches for the FNP series.

Love my FNP-9. One of my best purchases. Accurate and reliable. ON that envelope with the test casing...What is the date on it? That is the make year as some will contest. Mine was 1/25/10...

Congrats! You will be impressed when you shoot it and be happy you did not get a 2022.
