I was at the range today (sunny Buckeye, AZ) and was able to shoot a nice XD-M from one of the other shooters (a very nice gentleman). I have fondled one @ a gun shop before and didnt like it. I must say that after shooting one, it was; accurate, comfortable & overall easy to shoot.

I ran a magazine (thank god for 18rds) through it and it was wonderful! I was shooting double taps and it was very controllable. I wasn't sure what to expect with the trigger actually firing it rather than doin it dry. I was pleasantly suprised.

Overall it has now made my short list (#3) for pistols & I might pick one up just cuz.

Now I know what all of the XD owners have been saying is true!

You aren't alone. Apparently, these are flying off the shelves at Valkyrie Arms. I shot one and fell in love with it too.

Now, if i could only afford it......

Awesome guns. I sold my g17 and I don't regret it one bit. The ergos are waaaaaay better and the bi-tone [look at avatar] looks killer. I held the 3.8" xdm at prk and damn, even with the small grip it felt awesome. I held the sr9c and you can't even compare how good it felt. My m&p9c feels good but after holding the xdm 3.8", I might have to save up some money. If you ever come by Fresno and want to test it out again, let me know.

XDm9 Compact and XDm45 4.5...some of my best purchases yet... Would've been easier if I lived up north but I'm making due with what I can down here in San Diego.

I'm still trying to get my hands on an XDM. At this point I'll settle for any caliber; it is definitely hard to get one in San Diego...

Yesterday I went to Reed's and shot a M&P 40 and was very displeased. Dry firing it I liked the trigger, but one doin it live the entire gun felt terrible. It felt like the frame weighed nothing & the slide was like a brick. After my buddy & I put a mag thru it, I took it back inside the shop and asked if I can try something else, the guy working was nice & said they normally don't do it but he let me swap it for a 229. Go back on the range & fire the Sig, pure joy!

So now I can cross the M&P off of my list!

XD-M is still in top 3!!!

Congrats : ) XDs are great guns.

You could always go with a standard XD, and get yourself a drop in trigger kit!

After 3 XD's I had to move up and purchase a XDM, ended up getting a XDM 45 bi-tone and love it! Now I'm looking forward to possibly picking up a 3.8 XDM in 40S&W very soon.

Thats a sexy gun!

Thanks! But it's not as sexy as my P226R Equinox! But I'll leave that for another thread. I can't wait until I get my XDm9 too. Too bad I'm stuck waiting on my FFL to get his conversion parts back from a couple customers. COME ON GUYS! IT DOESN'T TAKE OVER A MONTH TO SEND SOME PARTS BACK! Ugh... People like that ruin it for everyone else....

so what than is the point of the xdm sense you have to convert it to a single shot and limit the mag? just estedix? i love them and wanted on, but ended up with a xd 40.

The single shot conversion is only used to allow someone to purchase the gun. Once the gun has been received it can be converted back to it's original state. Of course only 10 rd mags can be used... Just like your XD40.
