So I decided to go beyond me normal 100 paper target shooting today... was impressed to find I was hitting a 12" gong out at 400 yards...

DPMS oracle upper
Bushnell AA holosight
Wolf surp .223 ammo

10 mph perpindicular wind

for the type of upper and oracle I have, it was shocking I was nailing it! I didn't have time to go up and check out exactly where I was hitting, but sure as heck, all 10 rounds... 2 seconds later *thunkkk*

Surprised the heck outta me. Nothing outta the ordinary here or good shooting?

If you were standing, firing off the shoulder, fantastic shooting!!!! Now if you were shooting off a bench or a rest, that should be expected.

Try it with irons and let us know how it goes...

LOL...with a bipod, a C-clamp, a sand bag, a LaRue stealth I couldnt even see a 12" target at 400 yards with a Holosight let along hit it 10/10...LOL

With a 10mph wind and a no magnification holo sight topped off with junky russian ammo...
I say impressive shooting!

I'm surpised the wolf ammo was capable of that accuracy more than anything.

This is what I'm thinking. I shoot at a 3" target at 100 yards using irons with a .034" wide front sight post and I have a hard time seeing that thing. 12" at 400 yards with a non-powered optic is still quite the challenge.

...it was bench shooting

Guess that's an important factor I somehow missed out :P

Yeah I couldn't really see it either. I just knew the range had put in in the middle of two logs supporting it lol

Well then you suck :p

I can hit a .000000001 micron wormhole at a 1000 light years with my iron sight .22lr from a bench. You need to learn the fundamentals.

You would need a time machine to confirm the hit.

Can I borrow your time machine?

Its Tardis... Tadus is latin for slow. I had to go look it up... wondering what you were talking about. Yea the Tardis is cooler than a time machine.

I would say thats good shooting combined with the fact that your rifle likes wolf... I can tell you that with a 16x scope I suck at shooting 200 yds alone. I could probably hit a 400 yd gong after 2-3 practice shots!

Some of you guys have old eyes or need glasses;) Guess I have some accurate rifles, ones that shoot better than 3 moa.

For your first time past 100 yard out to 400 yards and hitting 10/10 is great shooting :)

I have rifles that shoot sub-moa, but can you shoot sub-moa with irons off a bench at a 400-yard target. If so, I need video proof.

Good shooting but thats normal. My AR 20" Delton build will shoot .75" at 200 five rounds and at 400 it will group 3.35" 5 rounds. I reload and use a scope and sand bags but it's like I said before nothing shoots like an AR/M4 nothing!

So how about with irons?

Btw, a good bolt action will still beat those AR groups but to me it's just not as fun.

I have a 26" bull barrel savage and the AR hangs with it!

Well done, and always remember, It's not impossible, I used to bullseye Womprats in my T-16 back home; they're not much bigger than 2 meters!

On a serious note, great accomplishment, you should be proud. With persistance, you'll only get better!!
