I just received my order from midwayusa. My set-up is for a stevens200 30-06. I tried mounting the scope right now and the front ring wont go arround the scope, it seems that the front mount is too forward. Can someone tell me what could be wrong? Is the scope too short or what the heck? or is it the mount thats not right? I hope you guys can understand my explanation.
Below are links to my set-up

Assuming you have the bases setup such that the cuts are the closest they can be, then your scope tube is too short for those bases. I think this is probably the situation since you have a long action.

Your cheapest option would be to get a one piece weaver / picatinny style base like the Ken Farrell.

Here are pictures of the Ken Farrell on my Savage:

You have a long action rifle. Like the other poster said, you might need to get a one piece scope base so you can position the rings differently. Or you need to get a different scope.

BTW, get some decent rings. $20 rings for a 30-06 will move on you after enough rounds.

Thanks guys, that is the case, the tube on the scope is short,I didn't know that when I ordered the stuff. Where can i get the ken farrell at? Are picatinny and weaver bases the same? And pthfndr what rings do you recomend?

Ken Farrell bases are available from http://www.kenfarrell.com or Sinclairs.

Picatinny and Weaver style bases are not the same. Weaver rings will work on both picatinny and weaver rails. Picatinny rings will only work on picatinny rails. The cuts on picatinny rails are slightly bigger than weaver cuts.

Your rings are perfectly fine. Just make sure you tighten them and/or torque them appropriately. I've used Burris Signature rings on many guns with no problems.

Except the rings he has AREN'T the Burris signature rings (which I agree are good, I've used them myself).

How much more rail do you need? This might be what you need.

Picatinny and weaver bases are not the same. Can't remember the details. I switched to all picatinny long time ago.

Yes, I understand that the Burris Zee and Burris Signature Zee are different because the Burris Sigs have the plastic inserts. But they are fundamentally the same ring. The only difference between the two is that I would lap the Burris Zee rings (as you would lap any other ring set).
