Help me decide on which one to get.

The AR pistol is probably the least impractical of the lot. Otherwise, if it's just about making loud noises and having fun, any of them will do.

I think AR pistols are just about the best-looking guntoys around. OTOH, I think AK pistols are ugly. I own and like lever-actions, but the shorty models don't do much for me.

If I wanted to waste some gun $$$, I'd get a 9mm AR pistol, but I doubt I ever will.

AK Pistol ftw! I also like the AR Pistol too, but there are a million of those around nowadays.

AR/AK pistols will only make you wish you can SBR it. Stupid CA... I vote for ranch hand since they are rare and you could use it at indoor ranges. I'd personally do Woody and Arny impressions with it too. :)

AR pistol all the way.
AK pistol if you can't get an AR pistol.
Ranch Hand ONLY if you look this good and are a chick...

Which one will turn the most heads?

I see tons of AK and AR pistols at the range these days. Personally, I'd jump on the Ranch Hand if I had the chance.

What do you plan to use it for?
Which one uses ammo that you already have a large supply of? :D

AK pistol for the win...Why pistol? Why not rifle?

I think the AR and AK pistols are a waste of time. The Rossi Ranch Hand will be an effective gun that is more able to be controlled while shooting things like pigs, bear, (if you had to) or other varmint animals much easier. I just see the utility in it a lot more, but its just my .02c.

Post up a pic if you end up with one as I thought they were illegal here.

Oh, and how are you going to get it??? Single shot it in exempt from the roster or what?

^ Yes through single shot exemption.

Also, the Ranch Hand also comes in 45 Colt and 38spl/ 357mag. I’d get the .38/.357 mag version since already shoot plenty through my S&W and Ruger wheel guns…

The nice thing about a 556 pistol is that when you’re across Stateline and you have your CCW you can carry “rifle firepower” on the seat next to you. Hopefully you’ll only need one shot for that critter which is more than doable with a AR pistol at 75 yrs, a little more challenging at 100 yds but still possible.

SIG P556 for me.

I can put an AR pistol on my CCW now in Ca.

If you're just looking for something fun, without a real purpose other than making other people go, "wow!" then I vote AK pistol!

AR pistol - if you want to look like a bad guy in space sci-fi movie or a 80's post apocalyptic flick, and want to hate the sbr laws in Cali as long as you own it

AK pistol - if you want to look like you are going to be doing drive by's in Grozny of doing personal security for a Bulgarian cardbord box mogul , and want to hate the sbr laws in Cali as long as you own it.

Ranch Hand - If you want to look like a outlaw biker or a bas a** from 1895

AK pistol with all of the doo-dads you can put on - If you want to look like you are in a bad sci-fi movie from the 90's, and want to hate the sbr laws in Cali as long as you own it.

That being said I would take 2 of each, please.

Op,

You can have both an AK pistol and an AR pistol in 1 package:

The ergonomics of the AR platform and the reliability and hard hitting power of the AK all mixed into one.

I decided to get something crazy, sexy, cool and totally impractical for my 3/4 life crisis, and narrowed it down to AK pistol, AR pistol, or Serbu Super Shorty. I polled family and friends, from local law enforcement gun enthusiast to English hoplophobe, and asked which gun they would least like to see running wild on the streets, basically their vote for The Fecalator.

I figured most would say AK pistol, since the AK type is universally known as the evil-doer gun, but that finished last, to my amazement. I thought the locals would say the Shorty, since it has that undeniable bad-azz mob hitman or Tubbs from Miami Vice if you're old sawed-off shotgun look.

Nope - the undisputed winner was the AR pistol.

I vote for something else, don't know what but not one of those three.

I think the ranch hand would get boring after the first 6 shots. Then you'd reload and wonder why you just blew $600 on it and it counts as a 30 day gun.

I think you would be instantly pissed at the cal gun laws after shooting either the AR or AK pistols because you will wish you could put a buttstock on them. You can't sight either of these effectively without a buttstock.

Get something else!

ak pistol. Ar pistols just look retarded.

But ranch hands are pretty cool also.

I built an AR pistol after finishing a couple of 80% lowers. I've found it to be surprisingly "not boring". Much funner than say....my Mac 10. And much more accurate as well. And that should only improve with time. YES, I would love to bolt on a Ace stock but I didn't feel too cheated after my last desert trip.

The ar pistol will be the only one of these that you can mount, thanks to the buffer tube. Then you can take steadier mounted gun, aim through its sights, and due to its more accurate design and implementation, be most likely score a hit.

If you can't hit it, might as well not be shooting. So get the AR pistol

$650 plus taxes, fees, DROS, attachments, and ammo will get you the PLR 16.

Personally, I'd get that "Self-Extracting Single Shot" AR pistol from Franklin Armory in 7.62x39 (for assaulting soda cans at the range).
