Just kidding... Im not saying that the 40sw will blow a hole thru a tank and a 45 will blow a hole thru Jupiter, thats just Stupiter!(:p)

Anyways, here in the great state of CA where 11 round is Evil, we have to deal with 10 round + 1 which is ALMOST EVIL! So, I read many times of people claming that they would shoot a 9mm because its easier recoil is controllable and such.. I had to actually test this myself so I finally had time today to take out the 92sf and the XD40 to test if there really is a difference in recoil...I think my callus has numb me but I cant feel the difference between the two loads.

My 40sw lead bullet is pretty hot. Max listed on the Mfg sight is 6.0gr and that is what I have it at...still pushing 990-1002fps with a 185gr is about 100fps shy of 10mm velocity..haha talk about 10mm wanna-be!

Anways, heres the video of the test, please dont flame:

The XD handles .40 like a champ. That is not to say your test has no bearing but a glock 23's felt recoil is substatially greater than a glock 19s or even a 26. at least to me. So maybe the test would be more accurate with an XD9 as the 9mm test subject.

9mm recoil is snappy because the bullet is fast (for a pistol cartridge*). To suppress the snappiness, you need a heavier gun or 147gr subsonic bullets.
