do you think it would be a popular rifle?

or what about a lever action rifle chambered in 7.62X 39?

I THINK THESE TWO RIFLES WOULD BE GREAT!:D

I think it's bound to fail, or at least it won't work too well. Sharp bullet tip and no rim would make it hard to achieve. Well, the sharp bullet tip might be somewhat fixed if Hornady starts making the Leverevolution bullets in these calibers.

I like the idea of cheap levergun shooting. As ElvenSoul points out it would have to be a magazine fed rifle. The Win 1895 and Savage 99 also had magazines and could accept pointed bullets and rimless cartridge cases.

I'm picturing a Winchester '94 with an AK mag sticking out the bottom.
Who's got photoshop?

How about in 7.62x25? Cheap Ammo..could be tube fed

Sounds like it would be a fun toy. Maybe a 5 round box magazine?

I wish I could get my hands on one of those 7.62x54R lever actions.

Does anybody here know how a tubefed levergun works?

It would have to be magazine fed, which would pretty much negate the point of it.

The Browning BLR comes in a 223.

Neat idea but I doubt there would be that much of a following for them with the enormous amount of other proven platforms that shoot that round. In response to the sharp bullet issue, wasn't it the Remington Model 14 that had some sort of curves in the tube that allowed for that type of ammunition to be used without the possibility of a round going off?

7.62x54r has a better chance of working since its rimmed already, but the bullets are a bit on the pointy side. However an easy fix with the correct load.

The point is about detonating the round in front of it in a tube. The real problem in functioning is the lack of a RIM on the brass case. 223 and 308 are round designed to be used in actions that didn't require a rim, as opposed to 30-30 and 30-06

I don't think it would work out very well. I'm sure someone's tried to create a working prototype(and failed) lol.
