Just ordered 700 PSS to put in the new Accuracy International AX chassis - and I will be running it as a .223. More info as the parts arrive.

This is my "precision debate" .223 or .308

Lots of .223 ammo lying around - no .308

Was looking at a AICS 2.0 and NF 3.5...

Congrats

I honestly got sick of just burning ammo through my ARs.
Then I found out the removable mags for the AICS work with 308 or their plastic 223s..

Wish I would have known you were looking. I've been thinking about selling mine....

Looking forward to seeing your build.

I really like the idea of a 223 sniper rifle. The ammo is the most affordable and available everywhere.

But then are you not limited in distance to about 600 yards? I like the idea of snipping but think 1000 yards is the mark. JMHO

Yes, because here in Hollywood the opportunity for a 1000 shot comes up all the time.
:)
I have guns for that shot. In Urban situations it's just carrying too much gun and heavier ammo. BTW FBI crime stats say Police sniping engagements occur at 75 yards.

Angeles range is pretty darn close to Hollywood, correct? I guess I think of it as shooting and not real life. We all know if you can make a 1K shot you can make a 100 yard shot; however if someone is shooting back the game is changed. Congrats on the rifle. I love shooting my Bull AR 223 but have only had it out to 300.

I shoot at Angeles and at my friend's backyard in Ventura County where he has Larue's out to 500 yards.
But Diego, I'm not a young'n like you, and my eyes aint what they used to be. Squirrels at 1-200 yards will be fun enough...

.223 can make it to 1k. It won't be as fast as .308 Win but it will get there.

Im thinking if you used 69-80gr projectiles for that .223 you should have some luck at the longer ranges

The AX chassis is a new design or a redesign of the AICS that we all know and love?

I owned a Remy in an AICS (non-folding) and the ergonomics did not fit me well. I've been very happy with the 2 B&C A5s I've owned, but would be interested in seeing new designs.

The AX chassis is like the pistol grip modular stock on the MSAR and the SSG 08:
