Just wondering what products everyone is using; cleaning kits and chemicals from rods to copper and carbon solvents, and lube oils.

From the CalGuns collective wisdom I'll assemble my setup! :D

I've had everything under the sun it seems :)

Unless it's something leftover that's sitting in front of me, I'll use butchs bore shine on the bore and hoppes 9 on everything else metal. Lube with Lubriplate FMO350 spray and lubriplate grease on rails or bolts. That's what works best for me (they all work as long as you maintain everything as you should). This stuff mentioned makes cleaning the easiest for me and lubing as well. Stays on great and doesn't attract much crap. I like tetra grease as well but not a big fan of their clp.

Did I mention it all works as long as you do your part?!

My father has swears by No. 9 for a solvent as long as I can remember, but the stuff is so old there's gotta be something better.

I've been using CLP for years as a lube, but I can't say there's anything special about it. Might as well clean w/WD40 and lube with rem oil. It would probably be the same thing.

Nobody uses copper solvent?

M-Pro 7 gun cleaner and M-Pro 7 Copper Remover, no smell whatsoever. EEZOX in the bore when I'm done cleaning, smells kinda minty. Tetra lube and grease for mechanisms, no smell.

I have tried ALL of them. I use KG-2 for carbon and slip 2000 oil when done cleaning to lube them up. Both KG and Slip are the best I have ever used.

This for the bore: (and yes, it kills copper, and no, it's not just for break-in)

breakfree CLP for cleaning solvent and barrel duty, slip 2000 EWL for oiling

+1 been using CLP for years-- the guys at Riflegear recommended EWL so I'm using that now. I also use a Hoppe's bore snake and wipe down the receiver with a silicone gun cloth. I try to KISS.

I use CLP, boresnake, old mechanical toothbrush (make sure you get a good design! http://www.amazon.com/Spinbrush-Battery-Powered-Toothbrush-Marvel/dp/B0014AG64Y ), and patches to wipe everything down.

It was my understanding that CLP was good for everything, cleaning and lube. How come everyone only uses it as a lube? i am being cheap or should i start to looking into a better solvent.
