A friend's friend is thinking to sell his 27+ years old K22. He said it's in great condition but I haven't seem it. No box nor paper but he was the first owner.

So let said, it's in 85~90% blue and lock tie and all, what would it worth in today's market?

I would say around $500. More with box/papers or an usual configuration.

Blue book at 80 to 90 % is $235 to 275

Just got an update on that revolver. It's a 22mag and wasn't the 22lr I initially thought it was. And the seller wants $450 for it.

I lost my interest for it.

I wish it was up North, I'd jump on it.

With the price of new S&W 617's with locks at close to $800 out the door, the older pre-lock models in vg condition are good buys and have the potential to appreciate in value.

I collect K22 pre 18's and 17's. They usually run around $550.00 for a 95%+ example; these were built in the late 40's and early 50's and exhibit excellent workmanship.

I also have a pre-lock 617 which I purchased new for around $650 I think about 12 years ago.

I've been looking for a 22 mag version but they're hard to find.

I wish it was a 22lr. I like 22 for plinking reason. And with 22mag running $10 per box. There just no reason for me to pick this up.

That would be a Model 48 discontinued in 1986.
I'd say $450 -$500 is a fair price for an 85%-90% condition.

May I ask what barrel length and where it's located in CA? Might be interested.
