That is a nice sig! I just bought a RIA tactical to save some money. I wish I would have spent the extra money and got the XO that was next to it.

Yeah honestly it was between the XO, RIA and the Springfield Loaded. The springfield though on sale went out the window because I HATE Turners and refuse to give them biz unless I have to or it's too good to pass up. Plus not made in USA. The RIA was going to be my next bet, but hard to find tactical version. And at the same time I hear it's very hard not be tempted to upgrade the mil-specs and RIA 1911's. And if I was going I end up doing that, I would be paying as much for the XO prob eventually.

I'm so excited except not Im worried if that is discoloration and cleaning it meticulously now. But between this being the 100 year anniversary of the 1911 AND picked 12 hours after Bin Ladin was killed. This is going to be a keeper! Already has sentimental value based of those two events alone lol.

It looks like the same finish on my 226. Kind of a blackish gray? My 226 has been my favorite non 1911 gun I have, and I'm quite certain you will love that sig forever. Spend the extra money now. What's a couple hundred dollars over the life time of the gun?

Mine doesn't have that discoloration on the barrel, that's weird. Nice thing about the sig is it didn't have a break in period.

I've been curious about those sig 1911s, but I just couldn't NOT buy American for my 1911s.

SIG's QA on the finish went south.... had to call them on a P226R a year ago and they were difficult in replacing the slide. After a few email exhanges with pics, SIG finally gave in. For the money, Les Baer is my next 1911.

Great looking pistol.

Yes I am looking forward to the range report as I have my eye on this exact gun in my local shop. My wife calls it the hugs and kisses gun but I have named it the love gun....and how can you not by a 1911 in the 100yr anniversary.

When Sig 1st came out with the GSR (1911 original line), a dealer I know got one and we went to shoot it.
It ran every type of round we brought with us.

These newer ones are improvements on the GSR line from all accounts. I do have to buy a 1911 this year.

Great find.

It looks like copper residue, take some heavy duty bore gel and copper cutter to it and see if you get anything. It doesn't look like rust to me.

Nice thing about the sig is it didn't have a break in period.

Is this true for this Sig model only? I've seen recommendations, at least for other Sigs, to fire at least 250 rounds to be considered "broken in". For a quality piece, I consider that ludicrous.

I have shot factory ball ammo through my Sig TTT without a single hick-up, even with JHPs it has not failed to fire and eject. I will admit I've had a couple of failure to feed with lead SWC, but those are reloads. If I have to carry a pistol I'll have the confidence with my Sig TTT and Winchester PDX1.

I've never had a FTF from my Sig 1911 unfortunately I'm selling mine. I saved up to buy a TRP operator but I'm selling it to fund the difference for the PRO and a 9-12 month wait.

Yeah tomorrow Im gonna be heading to the range to try it out. Cant wait. Gonna bring about 100 rounds of Blazer and UMC Remington. I usually just shoot the steel targets at Angeles, but may actually pony up and get some paper targets to see how accurate this thing is.

JTROKS
05-03-2011, 11:26 PM
Should be accurate enough for business. This is just a sample of my Sig TTT's accuracy. That's 8 rounds from one mag.

A lot of 1911's need to break in, unless its a colt :), but I didn't have any issues with commercial ammo of any kind. I only had issues with swc reloads not feeding. I put the same reloads in an xdm and they fired just fine so it wasn't the reloads. It will shoot hollow points without a problem.

Went to the range today! Shot about 150 rounds throught it. I really need to work on my grip. Shot high and left. Very annoying got to work more on that. But the grouping were tight, and when I let my friend shoot it, who shoots pistols a lot more than me, hewas dead on with about 1.5" groupings at about 12 feet. All dead center. Had one ftf on the very first round. And like 6 malfunctions ON MY PART. Lol I am not used to that safety right there and kept popping it up accidently. At first I totally thought the gun broke lol. I always keep my grip up and tight on my XD so when I used that for the 1911 I kept popping up the safety.
But oh man was she nice to shoot! Very smooth, the trigger like leaps and bounds above my XD trigger, and the way it feels in your hands it just feels awesome.

Yet to recieve my VZ grips ordered on the 17th shipped the 20th, 3 email attempts to VZ with no responses. Starting to get worried here.

Finally my VZ grips came in! After like 3 weeks, 4 emails, 3 calls I was bale to finally get a hold of them and settle it. They claimed they shipped the grips, which I do believe because of the shipping number. But whatever may have happened was an error and never shipped from their post office. Got it all squared away and were shipped to me in 3 days. So suprised it came this quick!! Anyways though they helped me out finally, got to give their customer service a D. I tried getting ahold of them on 4 seperate occasions. 2 through email, and never returning a email. When I called the first time I was put on hold till I was disconnected. When I called the second time he kept saying it was shipped, though my tracking indicated it never left the post office. He said he would look into it and call me back that day. He never did. Called back next day at the end of day, and had it settled shipped Friday and received today. Pics to follow!
