I have an MOE and an A2. I prefer the A2 and will switch the MOE over to the fixed stock. Plus, I'm a featureless advocate.

My personal preferrences are as follows...

FOR CQB RIFLES

1. LMT CRANE SOPMOD
2. VLTOR IMOD or EMOD (I didn't list the Magpul ACS because I would rather have the Vltor at that price range)
3. MAGPUL UBR
4. MAGPUL CTR
5. MAGPUL MOE or GI Stocks

FOR PRECISION RIFLES

1. UBR Buttstocks
2. PRS Buttstocks
3. A1 Buttstocks
4. A2 Buttstocks

Included in this picture are two of my ARs both with LMT CRANE SOPMOD stocks.

I like the ACE skeleton, ACE ultralite, Magpul ACS and Magpul CTR.

A2s are OK, I haven't tried much else.

Cheapo generic CAR stocks are not cheap enough to not spend a few more and get a CTR.

Is that a samson rail? Looks good on your rifle.

As for droppindueces, I don't hate the stock you have I just think that better has come along. That's just MY two cents and as for hating... The rifle above I hate cause it looks, gangsta. I mean really that rifle looks cool!:punk:

And I was very close to snagging a VLTOR Emod stock until I saw how much they wobble without being modified. I just don't think that should be necessary, especially when LMT sells a collapsible stock for $50 that is as sloid as an A2. It's the principle of the matter. When everyone else takes the same care in making their $100+ stocks as LMT does in making their $50 stock, I will look at other brands :D

Man, I'm done fighting you on the stock. You're impossible to win over. Also I showed you HOW to get the wobble out and you still don't like it. Face it you're an LMT stock slave. :)

That rifle is a POF-USA P415 with their 18" system. For this particular setup, it's fine, but if you have a KISS setup, I'd shy away from the UBR.

The UBR is actually very heavy when compared to other stocks. I found it to be better balanced for front heavy rifles like the SIG 556

Out of all the stocks I've had experience with, the ACS is the best, and it's very affordable too. The cheek weld is perfect. Love the storage capabilities. No perceivable wiggling & absolutely no rattling or discomfort.

If you want light and telescoping, there are 3: Original VLTOR Modstock, SOPMOD, and generic M4 stock. Magpul CTR and MOE pretty close. UBR and TROY Oil Can tip the scales the other way.

I like my ACS.

It was pretty solid as is but it did not lock up super tight on my Vltor buffer tube (mil spec) but I changed that by adding a strip of duct tape inside the hole in the stock. It was a bit tricky to get it in there but now it locks up solid.

I was able to get a .270 cal bore snake in the side compartment in the stock, I haven't figured out what to put in the two tubes. If I can find a bottle for lube and solvent that won't leak, that will go in there.

I picked up a Model 1 sales A2 stock. Simple as can be, < $60. However, the buttplate really doesn't fit very well, it's countour and the contour of the buttstock don't really match. Do you get what you pay for? Well $60 should buy you SOMETHING in a simple A2 stock don't you think? I'll live with it. It's not cool, but it's a buttstock.

I have 3 wearing A2 stocks. I bought my first colt from a friend who's an Armorer for a local PD. They had to switch everything that went into a squad car over to collapsible to fit the mounts they ordered. I paid $20.00 ("that went into the Pizza fund") I wish I would have bought them all. Then I parted the rest of them together from Forums I dont think I've paid more then $40.00 each for all of the parts (Buffer, buffer tube, buffer spring ect) and I've had great luck with them. The other 2 are Magpul MOE
