View Full Version : convert-a-pellet
i just found this convert a pellet. http://www.convert-a-pell.com/ it lets you use 22 pellets for pellet guns. is this legal to use in your rifle or handgun in the backyard? i would not try because i don't know how powerful just the primer would be but thought it was interesting.
Depends on what city. I know in San Diego you can't discharge an air gun in city limits.

Umm, it's not an air rifle, you're still firing it with a primer. Sounds like a (admittedly really low-powered) firearm to me.
Otherwise, I'm gonna go get some Aguila Colibris and have fun in my back yard (that neighbor hates me already. :P )

he said that it still counts as discharging a firearm within city limits. However he said if you were shooting it in your garage nobody would ever be any the wiser. The velocities are nothing like pellet gun velocities either, they're much lower if I was hearing him correctly. We talked for about 30 minutes, real nice guy.

It would still be considered a firearm, so most likely it isn't legal (check city codes). But then again, it's technically illegal to fling rubber bands in my city so...yea.
I'll second the Colibri's. They'll kill 500 pages of yellow pages when shot through a rifle :D I think my Red Ryder is louder than the Colibri's.

I bought the old convert a pell kit for revolver I own. Its not that bad but not all that. Its fun.. but thats all.
You looking for one.... I got one.
I've got one. Well made and works as advertised but still too loud for me. Even shooting it in the garage I can hear it down the street.
