Handguards: any that fit an AK rifle.

Congrats on the draco. Most places that sell ar handguards usually sell ak ones too, there aren't that many to choose from.

For quick range trips I just throw mine in an old jansport backpack with a luggage lock, pretty ghetto but meets the legal requirement.

Enjoy! Your face may be sore after shooting it because you're gonna have a huge grin the whole time haha

I would advise you to shop carefully and double check measurements. If that is a stock Draco it is going to come with a muzzle nut welded on for import purposes. It is entirely legal to cut it off and you will probably want to. At that point you will probably want to put a flash hider on it. That is also perfectly legal on a pistol with a locked magazine.

The Draco itself it 20" long as I recall. Depending on what muzzle attachment you add you will probably go over 22" which is the length of most "assault pistol" cases. What fits the bill nicely is a multi-pistol case, usually a six pistol case is 25+ inches long and will hold a Draco nicely. The Toughmate T.Z. 6 pistol case is expensive but the top of the line for transporting a Draco.

Toughmate T.Z. Case (http://www.guncases.com/t-z-case-toughmate-alumitech-6-pistol-sil-pistol-case-25x15x4-75in-silver-tm0025ss.html)

Since you will probably be putting a better fitting pistol grip on your Draco, while you have it off I strongly recommend putting in a sling adapter from Parallax Tactical (http://www.parallaxtactical.com/store/vm-1-draco-ak-pistol-sling-plates-820.html).

Here's how my Draco wound up.

Nice pickup on the Draco. You'll most definately have fun shooting it! If you want a tactical style handguard for your Draco, Midwest Industries probably has the best one. If you want wood IMO Ironwood Designs outta San Jose has the best AK wood stocks on the market. If you plan to replace the thread protector on the end of your barrel you'll have to dremel off the tac weld and remove the set screw, than screw on your brake/flash suppressor of choice. I have a brand new Tapco slotted muzzle break for $15 if your interested.

Oh yeah +1 on the VM sling plate, and there's no better PG for the Draco than a Hogue rubber PG.

man these draco pics are getting me excited. im getting one in a few weeks...

actually, let me rephrase that. i hypothetically should be getting my draco in a few weeks if my FFL ever gets around to actually sending the package back to the vendor, who accidentally sent a non ca compliant draco. i say IF because the thing has been sitting in his shop for about 3 weeks now, and it seems like it still hasnt been done.

ive got a tapco SAW style pistol grip on mysaiga 12. its nice, however i prefer the look of a traditional bakelite red pistol grip on an AK with wood furniture

I also had the SAW grip on my Saiga 12 then switched it to the Draco. It was nice until it broke.:( I now have a Hogue grip which is much better.

I also had the Tapco quad. My suggestion to you would be to ditch the cover on the bottom rail and put an AFG or some sort of rail cover because the Tapco rail cover has a tendency to slide off on your hand as you grip it. BTW its illegal for you to put a vert grip on the quad of the Draco. Don't make that mistake.

geez, your SAW grip broke? thats no good. i kinda got the feeling that it could happen though, because for some reason the grip doesnt feel that solid, at least in the way its mounted to the firearm.

Where's the pic? I've been on the fence about getting a Draco. I think I just need to pull the trigger on it. What shop did you go through?

I'm a general building contractor with many tools that get pulled from the cases & placed in service into the utility bed truck, that being said I have a big selection of power tool boxes to choose from for descrete pistol cases, sturdy & lock-able.

Here's my under cover Draco box in "evil negative" :43:

(sorry for crappy cell photto, just rushed out to the garage to snap these)

Here's the case opened up. I need to redo the foam as this was my first foam hack job, next one will be much cleaner.

Draco has a Hoag grip thats just flat out the best on this dragon (and she does breath fire!!!!!), Tapco slotted brake, sling plate & MI forend with a Burris red dot (wish I could have a red star dot :43:)

Last one;

Burris red dot works awesome on this beast, lines up with the iron sights, bright in broad daylight, works best with arms extended and damn accurate!
