I just remind myself that I deserve to be punished for living in this state and obeying its laws.

This doesn't really apply to me. But, I'll tell you what I say when I see someone else buying them: "God, am I glad I stocked up before the ban!":D

If I can't get the job done with 10 rounds, I need more training. Make those 10 count.

I take a deep breath and remind myself that we have way better weather in this state and no tornado's or hurricanes. Then I answer myself, to stop lying about it.

I feel your pain. I just purchased four CZ 75 mags. Cost me almost 1\4 the price of the handgun itself.

32 piece. I thought the 24 I paid for the M&P mags was high.

Have plenty 11+ rounders from before the ban. Even bought some for guns I didn't have yet, knowing that I would eventually get the guns to go with them. Glad I did. I won't buy a gun that I don't have, or can't get proper mags for. I get P.O.ed every time I even see those neutered mags.

I think about all the snow some people have to shovel, the negative temps some people have to endure, the amount of humidity induced sweat that drips off of some people's brows, and the amount of money I save by having to reload every ten rounds rather than 15 or 17 or 19...

But who am I kidding, I have enough preban mags to keep me happy for a long time.

Other than being annoyed at 10rd mags in general, I was happy to find mags at all. The gun they were for was made from '92 to '96 and the company making them folded in 2004.

I normally shoot wheelguns & non-Austrian .45's so it's rarely an issue... ;)

I tell myself that I could move and have standard capacity mags, but then I'd have to drive 3-4 hours each way to go surfing every weekend.

It helps a little that I didn't get into guns until post-ban, so I don't really know any better. I can't miss what I never had.

How about shooting Colts and Bushmasters back in the day and everyone in my family stocking up on them and 30/40 round magazines, yet, I was too young to get one registered to me as a RAW.

When I visit the in-laws in Florida I marvel at the off-roster guns, the high cap mags and the absence of bullet buttons on so-called AWs.

And then I realize that it's still Florida.

So nah. California gun laws suck. But California is still awesome.

Why do we call them Hi capacity mags when that is what some pistols are designed to use in the first place. Shouldn't we call them standard cap mags? We are the ones forced to use Lo Cap magazines and often pay more for them. Only in CA (and a few other backwards states).

Buy 10 rounders from other forums. Out of staters sell em' cheap.

Pretty much this. Also, there has been times when I've tried to trade standard cap mags for low-cap... and more than once there have been a sympathetic and kind soul in the gun community that just gave me a spare 10 rounder they had laying around for free. Usually its followed with a message such as "its just wrong.. no one should be trading for smaller mags for the sake of the state" One gentleman even told me how he was stationed in CA before, so he feels my pain.

Sometimes the gun community surprises me in these small/short moments of unity.

gorenut

we rationalize that somehow 2 ten rounders, are somehow magically safer, than (1) - 15 rounder.

just like used guns are not as dangerous as the new ones, therefore put a limit on new ones

I'm debating whether to sell them after I've safely escaped the borders of the People's Republik or just hold a massive Bullet Button/10 round mag burning party. Won't be much of a fire, I only have about a dozen 10 rounders, if that. :D

I picked up a Beretta 8357 with one 11 round mag for $430.

Three factory 10 round mags cost me $139. I just tell myself, "You will forget about this after you shoot it."

(From Gunclip Depot, by the way. A CA company. I ordered Wed. night and had my mags Sat. morning. Great service.)

Don't be silly ... it does happen, only not in quite the way you describe. I personally saw someone throw away 3 standard capacity magazines which had become damaged. Had they been for something I own, I would have nabbed them and rebuilt.

Some people just aren't "clued in" about what is legal and what is not. I've overheard more than one person talk about buying their "hi-caps" at Cabelas, seeming to be blissfully ignorant that they had broken the law by bringing them back to CA. A person like that is likely to just toss a bad mag as opposed to rebuilding it. My gain if I am lucky enough to be there at the time.

Seriously, I need to pay for private school (local high school has a 47% graduation rate), pay crazy taxes, and have to deal with neighbors blasting Mariachi music until 2AM, and deal with BB's/ 10 round mags??.
