Well my dad has finally come around and is looking to purchase his first handgun, and he has decided on a Glock 20 in 10MM. Problem is, he cant seem to find it online anywhere for purchase? Any recommendations on where to go?

Oh, a few questions as well:

- How much should he expect to pay in transfer fees? (its been years since I DROS'd a handgun)

- What FFL is recommended is the North San Diego country area? Anything but precision arms or turner's lol

Thanks in advance,

-Joe

You could always buy the 20c off of buds and drop in a factory non ported barrel.

They may have one. If not, would he consider the Glock 29?

It cost me $75 to DROS a pistol a few months ago in the Bay Area. Rifles are a bit cheaper. The going rate around here doesn't fluctuate much from $75, but gunshops can go as high as $120 or more! The best solution is to find a home-based FFL in your area.

for an instock weapon at a gun store is only $35. By law.

Of course, if you import one in from another FFL then that 35 bucks doesn't apply.

And all PPTs are $35.

A DROS for a pistol does not cost $25 like for a shotgun/rifle?

(I've never bought a pistol.)

Check out Iron Sights in Oceanside off the 76. They're a great shop. Parallax Tactical is also a great shop but when I was there a few days ago they didn't have any 10mm weapons. Parallax charges $40 to receive a shipped pistol and $25 to DROS it. DROS varies from shop to shop, $25-$35. I haven't been to a shop in SD that charged different DROS for HG or LG.

Edit: Most local shops will charge you CA sales tax for weapons even if they are shipped to them from out of state (unless PPT'd locally or from other state)

Sorry missed the last post. Congrats to your dad for buying such a manly firearm!
