Haha! I just had to share! I've never been this excited over purchasing a firearm before! I've wanted a Beretta for a long time, I guess. :)

Great choice, I own 3 Beretta pistols. You'll find the 92FS to be very accurate & smooth.

It just feels so nice in my hand. I shot it a LONG time ago (my first gun to shoot EVER) and it felt great! So, I expect it will be so much fun.

Thanks for the cruel tease, rogervzv! Haha!

Congratulations!

I have an Italian one, and to me, its the Ferrari of the 9 mm handguns. It is sooooo pretty and smooth, accurate, and reliable. She is very satisfying both in performance and to look at.

Congrats on your 92FS. Know How your feeling right now. I felt that way a month ago when i pickup my First ever handgun and yes it is a Beretta Its a 96fs INOX!! I so love the feel of it and how it handles I so want to go everyday to the range just to fire it. Oh well. Congrats!!

Congratulations. I have one too :D I like it alot. In my opinion and based on the opinion of some n00bs that I know, learning to shoot is easier with a Beretta 92 than it is with a Glock 17. I own both:D

YOu can't wait to to pick up your Beretta 92, I can't wait to pick up my AR pistol on saturday. I could pick it up right now, but the shop is 3 hours away :(.

LETS ALL GO BERETTA SHOOTING TOMMOROW!!!!!!!

I went Beretta 92FS shooting this last Wednesday with a business colleague and friend. What a blast! We were both tearing up the bulls-eyes and I am finally getting rid of my tendency to shoot slightly left.

I like Beretta 92s so much, I have three of them.

SiGman, you are in for a treat. Enjoy!

I only have two issues with mine:

a) in competition shooting where you are firing a lot of rounds in a hurry the cutout topped slide will pass heat shimmers off the barrel that will make it harder to aim. I once fired 56 rounds in less than a minute and ohboy did it shimmer!

b) the large open cutout on the bottom edge of the magazines let in dirt and grit when you drop them in competition. This means you have to brush out your magazines between stages. But that's a good idea anyway. ( I'm not 100% sure but I think that cutout is for compatibility with older Berettas that have the magazine catch down by the gun butt )

Speaking of magazines, only get the best, factory or Mec-gar. I let a gun shop guy talk me into Pro mags, that went... uhhh, not well. Don't worry, that shop isn't in business any more.

Thanks, people! I have so much catching up do at the range because I'm so bisy with school and work! Ugh!! :[ It's alright, though.....less than 3 weeks away from freedom from school! :) At least for the summer, anyway.

@Captain Neon: thanks for the heads up, only--this Beretta might be more of a range/casual shooting fun gun for me. I have my CZ 75 P-01 for self defense carry, and my G 22 for home defense.

@bcpucky: I'll try my darndest to get some photos up after I pick up tomorra!

@subrosa: Nice! The 25th Commemorative M9 special! :) How much are they going for a Valkyrie Arms? I'm diggin' those grips, by the way.

700 after dros/taxes. :D They had some leeryness about it being on roster, so to be on the safe side they single-shot it (yes, they have beretta 92 barrels...A1?!)

The real kicker, it is 92 of 2010.

I am in gun heaven right now (TN), but soon will be back in Kali to play with the new toy. I am going back and forth about taking the grips off.

It's an M9, though. A commercialized, civilianized repro of the military issue no less, but still an on-the-roster pistol. I wonder why they were leery.

You know, as nice as those grips are, I wouldn't shoot/carry with them. That laminate just looks so slick and no good for when my hands get sweaty after a few mags' worth of shooting. Still, you got a GREAT deal on a limited edition, collector's piece! :)

I think it was due to the differential serial number. I think it was more of a "we have the parts, why take a chance?"

I ordered a few MDS mags, got two of the SS mags Beretta had on sale the other day. I also broke down and just "had to have" the steel recoil rod as I was ordering from Beretta :D To bad those two 15rd kits are going to waste, I guess they will be fun if I travel out of state with it.

Enjoy !!! The Berettas have been very good for me. I've had and shot them since the 92s with the grip mag release to the current 92fs. They have all been reliable and accurate.

I have thousands of flawless rounds through both of my 92FS pistols. One of the easiest to shoot and funnest pistols out there. Congrats.

There are M9s being sold all over California. I don't get the single-shot comment.
Great gun! Those grips are awesome.
DROSed my own M9A1 (that is the one with the rail) last Monday, so this coming Thursday is the day!

I finally was able to replace mine after about 10 years and was really happy with it , it was from ITALY and I put about 300 rounds thru it and my youngest daughter saw it and now it is hers :toetap05:, so now I have to wait and replace it again, but at least I know she has a great gun

plankowner, you sound like a gread dad! Hopefully, your daughter appreciates that generosity.

So, in less than 6 hours, I will be in possession--FINALLY--of my first very own Beretta! Maybe not my last, either! He he..

Congrats! A friend is picking his up on Monday. I cannot wait to shoot that thing. I was thinking of getting one as well but the Colt and another 1970 WASR was calling my name badly. Awesome number you got. 92/2010...That is great. I always try and pick something with a number I like.

My WASRs are 1970 and 72 for my wife and I. My FNP is the year I graduated HS, etc. Tough to do but I get picky.

Congrats again it is sure pretty.

ZX-10R, that's an interesting thing you with the numbers on your guns. :)

I'd love to get an AK. I actually like the battle-worn look to them, especially with the wood furniture and faded bluing on the receiver and parts of the barrel. I have an uncoverted Saiga .223. I'll probably keep it stock, though. Makes a fine SHTF and/or truck gun. I will eventually get a classic-configured AK (well, almost! Gotta have the bb and 10-rd mag, of course!).

Very nice. A classic with great (current) history. It's funny how that makes particular guns so much more enjoyable to own. BTW, don't you love that "new gun, overly greased/oiled look" of a new purchase?

i think the only difference is the serial number... why beretta didn't think about us, the lucky californians? what are we going to do with those two rebuild kits? :cool2: keep for later....

man, i missed that SS mags, i thought about it, then too late,

anytime i get a gun that's been long on my "list" i tend to get more emotionally involved than if it isn't.

I need to find some of the old slotted screws, I am not a fan of these hex screws.

Nice! I was a bit mixed on the plastic panels, they look very spartan, but I got a set of Hogue wrap-arounds just to compare.
