Looks like it got on the DOJ approved list yesterday. If someone gets one, please add a review on it. I am assuming it does have a mag disconnect and loaded chamber indicator. It still looks cool.

It has a magazine disconnect and a non-threaded barrel.

The CA DOJ BOF approved chamber load indicator is not a requirement for rimfire pistols.

The only difference between the regular GSG-1911 and the GSG-1911CA, is that the CA version does not have a threaded barrel. Everything else is the same.

Great news! ATI hinted they'd do this back in December, when I pressed them they wouldn't give me any info. Very cool!

Good news, it's a fun pistol.

It sucks not being able to take mine to CA with me; how much does a CA legal barrel sell for?

Yeah boy. I might just have to check into it now that I have a job again.

I saw a tv spot with a rep from ATI. He said that you can do a reverse conversion by adding a .45 slide, and mag. Will that be ca legal?

SWEEEEET!!!!!! Time to see if i can get an extra non-threaded barrel for it and bring mine from out of state. Would rather just have two barrels than pinning the one. OR, just buy another one now and have two! :2guns:

So its not the same model "out" there right now, its a "CA" model. I wonder if its ready to ship to "CA" yet?

which probably means it has a bunch of useless and annoying crap on it

but it's still going on my buy list. i love rimfires.

Nope not ready. They must had just enough to have them tested. Word is that they are 3 months from being shipped.

The MSRP for the regular one is $359.95. I hope the CA model is not more then that.

I heard that the frame is Aluminum. I wonder if it would hold up to a .45ACP?

Saw this in the 1911 forum. These parts should be interchangeable w/ actual 1911's:
Barrel Bushing
Front & Rear Site
Hammer
Trigger
Grip Safety
the Whole Main Spring Housing
Thumb Safety
Sear
Disconnector
Sear Spring
Grip Panels (but not the screws because they're in metric)
Mag Release
Sear Pin
Hammer Pin
Plunger Tube
Plunger Spring

This was a smart move by ATI. There are going to sell a crap ton of these things, including the 1 or 29 I buy.

Ummm ... NO ... suppressors are legal are fairly cheap here ...
pin the cap to the barrel.
Buy one and shoot the sh1t out of it -- that's what I do with mine. All the coolness of shooting a 1911 and cheap ammo too.

I love shooting my GSG 1911. So much fun to shoot cheap .22LR ammo through.

The only bad thing.... extra magazines are expensive for it ($28 each).

I don't know how you can make the GSG 1911 into a .45 since the .45 mag will not even come close to fitting into the mag well.

In order to do mine as a single-shot, we had to shave down a .45 sled quite a bit in order for it to even fit into the GSG mag well. When I've accidently grabbed a .45 1911 mag and tried to shove it into my GSG (when I grabbed the wrong gun at the range... looks like my Kimber in the dark), there's no way it will go in there all the way. Fits maybe half the way in.

I've had mine for almost a year and have fired in excess of 4,000 rounds of Walmart Federal bulk pack through it. Mine eats it like candy.

You guys are going to love these out there. The GSG 1911 is a great little plinker. Mine has been very reliable and accurate.

Good to hear! I am in the market for a 22lr pistol. GF has a mosquito and that thing is a piece... (already tried CCI and various ammo)
Its between this or the Ruger 22/45 now

@DaveFJ80, how does it eat WM bulk? Reliable or takes some tweaking?

Mine actually doesn't like Federal bulk ammo. It'll eat up CCI ammo (Mini Mags and Blazer), but just doesn't like Federal bulk ammo. I've tried 6 different value pack boxes and at anytime, with any of my 6 GSG mags, I'll get all sorts of FTF's or FTE's using Federal bulk ammo. My 15-22 eats up the Federal so I just use it in that.

Not sure if just mine does that, nor do I really care about shipping it to ATI to see if they can fix anything. CCI Blazer is the same price as Federal bulk ammo so I just use that and that's ran 100% with approx 600 rounds through it.

It's going to be an agonizing 3 month wait. I can barely wait out the 10 day gun jail period.

Excellent. I've had my eye on one of these for a while. Hopefully in 3 months my wife will have forgotten about my most recent proclamation of "No, really, there aren't anymore guns I want to buy for a while."

So, 4 or 5 months equates to "a while" right?

Isn't the Sig 22lr 1911 made by GSG? I wonder if Sig will put one on the list. I like the looks of the grips on the Sig version.

Well that was an exaggeration, but Im sure they will be over $450 at Canyon. After Davidsons Gallery of Guns gets them listed I bet you can get one for a little over $300.

In this situation a "while" means about 6 days.

Yup, when something like a 22lr 1911 comes out with a decent price tag and good reviews dealers are gonna ask for a premium over msrp for a while.

I wished Nor Cal had a Turners cause the small shops are either pricing em up or they're out of stock.
