Hi All.

Does anyone know who else makes lightweight uppers other than CMMG? If there are other makers, which one would you choose over others to purchase. Thanks:)

Mostlikely you need custom build. Basically, LMT bare upper half is pretty light. Then have someone (or by yourself) to install a DD (Daniel Defence) or LT (LaRue Tactical) forearm, which are very light in weight.

You could also go with one of the carbon fiber tube foreends.

I do know CMMG carries some 14.5" Lightweight uppers. Does anyone else offer a complete upper in either 16" or 20"?

I was in my regular pistol range yesterday and they just got in their Bushmaster Carbon-15 sample. That rifle is super light! It was built on their Carbon fiber lower and carbon fiber upper receiver with 16" barrel. The balance was still good even with the light weight. If you want a lightweight upper, take a look at Bushmaster's setup; they should be selling the upper separate.

I built one up using a bushmaster ultra light 16 inch barrel. Picked it up off of ar15.com in upper parts section.

The Bushmaster Carbon rifles aren't "carbon fiber". They are made of a Carbon 15 composite which is indeed light weight carbon but far from carbon fiber. :)
