Ordered my Colt this past Friday. Got a great deal as well since my buddy bought one as well.

Reeds has quite a few 1911s. Nice selection of Kimbers.

I got my Kimber Custom Royal II at Sportsmen's supply at 1536 Camden Ave in Campbell. They have a pretty good lineup of Kimbers and other pistols, and my experience was good. Give em a call and see what they got.

Both City Arms (Pacifica & Pleasant Hill) usually have some nice Kimber's in stock. Try to give them a call or take a visit, and see if they have something you like.

Kimber is 3-10 months behind on orders right now. Every shop I called to check for a 10mm Kimber gave me a different time frame. One shop in Vacaville that usually has 150+ Kimbers in stock had 3 when I called, and they were already paid for. He told me 6 months, and his shop is an official super dooper Kimber Dealer :(

I got lucky and was able to get a used one from a nice fellow CalGunner. There are a bunch of very nice Kimbers in the classifieds right now.

Good luck in your search

Sadly I have had only 1 out of three kimbers that worked well. Pro Carry II, CDP Pro and a Eclipse. Only the full size Eclipse has ran just about any kind of ammo well. I have a Colt Series 80 which runs well and a Two tone Loaded target in jail. We will see how that one works after it gets out. Be sure to buy some Chip PM or Wilson mags for what every you get. I got the CDP and Pro carry at turners. The Eclipse was a trade. Lots of good used stuff on Marketplace.

I have read some rumors they wont be renewing the 10mm guns. However those are only rumors and I doubt they will drop the 45's since they sell every one they make for CA.

Assuming i cant find it locally at a close price, I signup to be notified when in stock at budsgunshop.com.

All the local stores I've been to recently have Kimber's but they may not have the exact model you're looking for. They should have some variation of the Custom II though. And they will probably be slightly more expensive than what you'd ideally pay for one. But if you have to have one, they're out there. BAGV, Valkyrie, US Firearms Co., Reed's, etc. Or you could have the money ready, browse the classifieds everyday, and jump on the first good one that pops up.

what happens if you order one and it gets put off the list before you take posession?

Ruger's new SR1911 might well decrease the demand and help to re-establish supplies of Kimbers... ;)

That was my concern as well. However I dont think Kimber will be letting any of their 45acp models fall off the Roster since they are selling almost all of them.

One of the employees at target masters told me that they would not be getting any kimbers untill fall, this was 2 months ago. I took it as fud, but maybe there was some truth to it.

Try the calguns marketplace or gunbroker if you are desperate.

I got mine off of gunsamerica from a pawn shop, funny enough.

Possibly buying the same thing this week.
On sale at Turners right now for $749.
This is probably the cheapest I've seen it around here.
I'd jump on this.

i have to disagree, colts are awesome, but ive shot both Colts and Kimber's and have to go with Kimber.

And as for where to buy Kimbers, sportsmans supply usually has a good supply of kimbers
