I've read far too many threads like the one I am posting, but I just have to say it:

I'm infected with .22LR madness.

I originally bought a 10/22 on a whim because Turners had it on sale and I wanted to save money by DROS'ing another toy with my Mossberg Maverick 88 shotgun. I picked up both 10 days later, and the 10/22 sat in the closet for a month while all my attention went to my new mossy (which I fondled and racked in my apartment daily.) First shotgun and first .22LR by the way.

Flash forward to a trip up to the Bay Area to visit friends and family, and I finally busted out the 10/22 to go to Livermore shooting range with my dad and a friend. Iron sights, shooting some Winchester Dynapoint that my dad had, 25 and 50 yards, it was a dreamboat. 500+ rounds of dynapoint and not a single issue. No FTF, FTE, or duds.

I am in freaking LOVE. Out of my small collection (XD9, mav88, 10/22), I never thought that this dinky little .22 would become my favorite, but it has. I maybe shot 100 rounds out of my XD9 and 10 slugs from my mav88 that day, but the real fun was shooting that sweet sweet completely stock 10/22.

Maybe I just don't know better yet, and maybe because I haven't shot any modded 10/22s yet, but I love how the stock 10/22 shoots. The trigger felt great, it was very reliable, and I did surprisingly well (for me) with the iron sights, able to hit 3" targets at 50 yards no problem. I am completely satisfied with the stock 10/22 so far. :43:

My first gun, some 30 years ago, was a 10/22.
I fell in love with it, too.

Nice, I don't have any 22s, but I "borrow" my moms 22 automatic pistol and 22 revolver to bring to the range sometimes. Love those little bastards, though the auto is finnicky, so the revolver remains favorite.

I've got a beretta neos and just placed an order with Shadow65 for my CMMG dedicated .22LR upper, so I definitely know what you're feeling. :D

It's intense isn't it.

I get the biggest kick out-shooting guys with either gigantic rifles, or gigantic scopes.

I bought my adult son one for his birthday last year. He and I already own many guns, the 10/22 quickly became one of his favorite. He put a red dot scope on it, surgical.

16.5" Green Mountain Fluted Stainless barrel. Its light and quick handling and super accurate. It has hit countless varmints in only 2 years. Scope is a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40 BDC reticle attached with a DeadNutz Game Reaper one piece base/ring mount.

I've shot more rounds out of my 10/22 than any other gun I have ever owned.
It's just so much fun.
And cheap fun compared to my Tikka .270 Winchester or any of my handguns.

Two more days till I get my Browning Buckmark out of jail. I love my stock 10/22 with a 3-9 power scope.

What kind of auto pistol? If it's an older vintage, try firing standard velocity .22 LR through it rather than the more common high velocity ammo you find these days.

I have an old High Standard that was really finicky until I figured out that when it was manufactured there wasn't any high velocity ammo. It works awesome now.

Surrender. There is no hope. I have 6 10-22s, although two are AMTs. I have a total of 26 .22 rifles and pistols. You walk into a store, they have an old classic .22 rifle (or pistol), the mist clears, and you have a receipt for a Winchester 52 in your hands. Don't try to fight it, give in. It's only money...

These are deadly. I originally bought mine for an appleseed shoot and I was going to leave it stock with just a scope...

Then I decided to change out the bolt handle, mag release, and stuff, but accidentally took apart the entire lower receiver. Since I was there I decided to just swap out part by part, and somehow a bull barrel made its way into that collection....

It's like a drug... a very accurate drug...
