Hey all,

So I take my SP2022 to the local range today, and the range instructor immediately jumps all over it. Asks if he can shoot it because he's thinking about ordering one tonight. I have no problems... let him throw some lead through it. After talking to him for a bit, I mention that I got the SP2022 because it was local (bought from a fellow calgunner here in the marketplace) although my heart has been after the SA 1911 Loaded Parkerized.

He says no kiddin, he actually has a springfield 1911 he wants to sell for $450.

I find out its the mil-spec model, stainless... so not exactly what I was wanting. Then he sweetens the deal and says he'll give me 10 magazines with it, and about 150 rounds of 45.

So now I'm in a conundrum hahaha. While it ISN'T the exact model I was after, it is still an SA 1911. He said while he was wanting to sell it for $450, he'll do a trade for my SP2022 because it's been that gun that he has wanted for some time now.

I'm kinda liking the 2022, need to learn to shoot it better, but do you guys have any opinions on the matter?

its a good deal, but it really depends on what you actually want.

I would do it as long as the 1911 is in decent shape and is working properly.

I'd trade for the 1911 and then save up for another P2022.

Dude, totally worth it. You're coming up on top, you can get another SP2022 again.

As a SP2022 owner (and huge fan of the gun) DO IT! You can get them new for $450 all over the place. Not the same can be said for a Springfield 1911 with 10 magazines and $50 worth of ammo.

Or the other option is tell me who this guy is and I'll trade my P2022 to him :p

Do it..
But be prepared, once you have a 1911, you'll want another. And you'll want to start customizing them...
They are very nice guns!

As everyone else has said, do it! My 2022 in .40 is my carry gun and even I would do it.

If it's in good condition I'd take him up on it and fast. That deal is nice. just bought a brand new SS Mil Spec myself. Wish I could have found someone with that kind of a deal.

Do it, those Sig Pros are a dime a dozen. Of course they are good, but a 1911 + 10 magazines and $60 of ammo is unbeatable. One thing to consider, if you shoot alot .45 caliber will be more expensive that the Sp2022.

You had to come here to ask? That's an awesome deal.

Considering that the SA Mil-spec is hard to come by these days, yes its a very good deal and one you'll regret if you pass on it.

that's one heck of a trade, do it before he changes his mind. Good luck!
