After handling both and being less than satisfied with the CA version (both the LCI and the price), I'm looking for a standard P380. It seems these can be had on GB for less than $500 shipped.

Does anyone know of who is doing the single shot conversions for the P380 and if there is anyone in So. Cal (or willing to ship the converted P380 to a So. Cal. FFL)?

TIA!

When the CA version is loaded the LCI pops up in the middle of your sights and is horrible. You could buy it and change it.

Yeah, I realized that, but at the $100+ premium the CA version is commanding, I'd rather spend the extra on getting one that does not have the LCI and mag disconnect than on nonsense CA compliance features....

Besides, I do not think it is advisable to disable factory safeties were you ever to have to use the pistol for self defense and end up in court

How does one remove the LCI from a P380? I don't own the gun yet and I already googled.

I have one with LCI and disconnect, and frankly the LCI is not a big deal. It is a lever-like device that protrudes from the top of the slide when the cartridge is loaded and case rim pushes it up. Its probably easy enough to grind it down the part that touches the case enoush so that it stays flush with the top of the slide.

In use, I actually like getting confirmation of the loaded cartridge. The only real problem I have is with my kydex holster. Its form fitted around the top of the slide, so I can't holster with a round in the chamber because the protruding LCI snags on the top of the holster...which reminds me I need to dremel a slot in it today.

The mag disconnect is another story. I would be happy to see it go away.

Isn't the PM9 about the same size without that devise, only in 9mm? That may be an option. Cheaper ammo too.

Keep us posted on this.

LOL, that would classify as a "big deal" to me!

The mag disconnect is probably easy to take out. At least it was in my M&P :D

The PM9 is a LOT bigger than the P380. The P380 is TINY.

pics dont do it justice, the P380 is smaller and definitely carry's smaller, but I find a LCP carry's even smaller since it feels much thinner and lighter in the pocket, I sold the LCP but often I think about selling the Kahr and getting another LCP and having another $400 in my other pocket, just dont think the P380 is worth the extra money

But as mentioned earlier, I would carry as big of gun that's feasible for the day, if it's pocket carry, to me the P380 is it, I find the PM9 too heavy and big for pocket carry, but many others do pocket carry it, if carry any other way then pocket, then go with a PM9,CW9, P9 or bigger.
