I've been looking for a deal on a Ruger No. 1 for about 30 years. I picked this one up yesterday. It's in .243 Win with a Leupold 2X7 Vari-X. I took it out shooting right after I picked it up and WOW! It shoots into an inch at 200 yards with factory ammo. I didn't even have to adjust the scope.
I know, it 'aint an OLL, but a true rifleman can also enjoy the beauty of a fine single-shot rifle.

Congrats that looks like a nice find.
Ive had my eye on a Stainless steel Ruger model 1 in 458 WIN MAG for a long while now. Ill bet you saw it the guy in question that owns it hangs in the big room just near the passageway that leads to the small room.
I already have 2 ruger model 1's but want more.
I hope this not constitute hording or keeping an arsenal.

 Holy crap!
How much did that set ya back?
I had to give $650. No matter how well off I get, I am still a tightwad when it comes to gun deals. I've been after a No 1 since I saw on at the Tacoma Gun Club in '75. Finally got a deal on one when I had the cash in hand. Did a ppt from an old guy that wanted a Browning shotty and needed some cash.
I know 1" at 200 is pretty hard to believe! I was very surprised mydangself. I verified zero at 25 yards, a dead-center Bullseye. I went straight to 210 yards (Bushnell laser rangefinder) and fired three shots. All clustered around the first shot! This was off a sandbag and bench, and conditions were almost ideal. I also whacked a bunch of my favorite reactive targets, 2 ltr plastic water-filled bottles at the same range. They are about 4" wide and I center-punched all but one at 210 yards. This is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot, and I've shot a few. The long wait yielded a "keeper"!!!!
