Had a misdemeanor conviction for resisting arrest 148(a)1 which was dismissed per 1203.4 pc. Can anyone tell me if I can own a firearm?

edit: My conviction was about 8 or 9 years ago

I have had friends in the same position. What they did was went and bought a gun they wanted and waited to see if the DOJ kicked back their paperwork. They all passed ok.

They could have been out $25 but that's cheaper than getting prints for $20 (UPS Store) and send the DOJ $25 with the form to find out.

Good luck.

The dealers would keep the $25 and at least 10% for restocking fee if the DROS gets denied by DOJ

I was looking over the Prohibiting Misdemeanors list. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/prohibcatmisd.pdf

All I see on there is 148(d) which is "Attempting to remove or take a firearm from the person or immediate presence of a public or peace officer"

So I'm assuming I may be in the clear. :)
