Your Liberties and Freedoms started down their path on April 18th, 1775 when Paul Revere set out to warn the colonists.

On this day in 1775, British troops march out of Boston on a mission to confiscate the American arsenal at Concord and to capture Patriot leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock, known to be hiding at Lexington. As the British departed, Boston Patriots Paul Revere and William Dawes set out on horseback from the city to warn Adams and Hancock and rouse the Minutemen.

Wow, no mention of Samuel Prescott, the only rider who actually made it to Concord.

I believe that Prescott's ride to Concord didn't start until the early morning hours of the 19th. But, yes, he was the only one that raised the alarm in Concord.

Obviously no one warned the people of Massachusetts of any approaching threats to their freedom in the 60's and 70's, or perhaps they didn't care.

Yes. Revere was a great patriot, but remember that there were several riders that went out that night. Revere was not even elevated to his First Among Equals status until Longfellow wrote "Paul Revere's Ride" in 1860.

Revere, Dawes, and Prescott are appropriately remembered, but historians believe that there were several other riders who risked their lives to get the word out, but remain uncelebrated.

The point of this is that we owe our freedom to both the named and unnamed heroes of our past (and present).
