Dear Iggy,

Since this is a flash hinder and not a flash suppressor, does that mean I can put one on my Kel-Tec or Mini-14?

:D :p

Exactly, it does not hide the flash, it hinders it.. Amazing new technology, someone should patent it

perhaps some bright individual could design a sound hindering device

I've been thinking about this lately. Is there a certain amount of decibels you could bring your gun down too? A .22 is legal, why can't I make my .223 be just as loud. There needs to be a law for a certain amount of decibels that a firearm needs to meet. A minimum if you will.

LEO's do have equipment to read decibels. I've been to parties with music or a live band and have seen them in use.

Just a thought.

The law says anything that is designed with the purpose of reducing the sound signature of a firearm is a suppressor. This is not the exact language, but this is why your idea of reducing your .223 down to the sound of a .22LR won't fly.

Yeah. I know the law. I was just hoping it could be more specific. Maybe i could make rifle a few decibels lower. Still loud as heck, but just little easier on the ears or even neiborhoods/houses a little too close to a range.

I know it's just easier to completely ban stuff then to have specific rules about it. I guess we would just find a loop hole anyways:)

I do not want to reduce the sound i want to hinder it

You put muzzles on digs to shut them up, so how about rifles?

Don't want to reduce the bite though...
