I just got a Ruger 10/22 and I'm looking at changing the stock out ASAP. I am looking for something inexpensive but nothing crappy either. Can someone recommend me the most popular awesome stocks out there??

Which Tapco one will fit my barrel? I got the "blue" or bull barrel, basically not the heavy barrel one.

i love my butler creek folding stock. I think the arcangel folding stock looks pretty cool. And if you want to be totally unique go with the 1022 fungun kit.

I'm going to have to get one of ^ some day.

Yep it's a Tapco. Just make sure to get the one for a standard barrel and not a bull barrel. The one pictured here also has a standard barrel.

Personally I think the Tapco stocks feel cheap compared to the arch angel and Nordics. Of course they are also way less money.

How can we recommend a stock when you don't specify what you will use it for? Thats like asking what foot wear you should put on...are you going hiking, running track, or playing basketball???

Blackhawk Axiom stock. Looks like an AR-30. Retail around $65, pretty adjustable, looks pretty bad, depending on what barrel you use.

Anything Boyd's, but most are for a heavy barrel. Love the feel of my evolution. Nice colors, finishes and customer service. I have 3 of their stocks, all great value for the money.

Butler Creek side folding is not a precision shooter stock but its pretty neat. With std. 10/22 18.5" barrel the stock folds to just make the OAL law - 26". Giving you a "cruiser" or backpacking type setup. The stock locks into place with a super robust folding pivot design that has almost zero play. Pistol grip is hollow out for a pretty huge storage compartment. An impressive setup IMO.

yea I have a standard barrel

Standard barrel will not give you enough accuracy at 100-200 yards, you would have install bull barrel for it.

i don't like the hogue stocks. their tolerances seem a little off sometimes.

I once encountered a situation where my hogue stock was physically touching my bull barrel. I prefer the rigidity to wood and you can bed your rifles imo alot easier with wood stocks.

Just remember that the "cool" stocks don't make your gun perform any better. Those promag G-36 stocks are cool - as long as you have a bull barreled 10-22 in a REAL stock when you actually need to shoot something:

Best "fun" stock --

Been looking to replace my factory stock, so have handled a lot of these lately. Tapco gets my vote for a good all around aftermarket stock. Not over done on the tacticool look, sturdy but not too heavy, well built and durable.
